Flyovers?

I really miss the flyovers from 2 years ago. Does anybody know if we have any planned for any games this year.

I only checked the Navy site (NAVCO) and the only ones on the schedule right now are -

9/5 Hampton Nicorette 300
9/6 Hampton Pep Boys 500
9/24East Lake Tour Championship
10/4 Final Braves home game

My Dad still talks about sitting in the upper deck during a C5a flyover shortly after it was introduced. Must have been incredible to see that beast fly low over the Flats

I used to turn wrenches on ole 'FRED' up in DE.... everynow and then just after shift a few of us would head down to the access rd right at the end of the runway and watch the training missions touch down(or slam down depending on the grade of the pilot)... they were comin over with gear down + full flaps at about 100 ft.... talk about a rush... and I wonder why my hearing is shot

How about a flyover for Athens with Round-up, kill those damn hedges and field for good.

Not particularly comforting to know that they are "training" as they zoom towards stadiums full of thousands of people.

Unless they're in a battle zone, they're training. "Training" doesn't mean they don't know what they're doing, it just means they're staying at the top of their game.

I'm sure that they only use top-notch pilots for those things, but I'm still not a big fan of aircraft flying such as to intentionally come very close to extra-large groups of U.S. civilians unless it's necessary for national defense purposes. Plus, I was not happy with the colors of the planes in past flyovers. If Tech people are piloting them, they really ought to abide by the official Tech color scheme. As soon as we figure out what it is.

God almighty can we please get some toe-meets-leather before they have to pad my walls with leather?

All planes will be covering Ted K's funeral--D'crats know how to allocate defense resources--Air Force One for a photo op over lower Manhattan???:wow::wow:

The Air Force 1 photo op was merely a side trip on a standard training flight.

They had to fly it around anyway, so why not take a few pictures? There are plenty of good things to complain about coming from DC without making stuff up.

Regardless...the thought process was pure brilliance.

"Let's fly a jet airliner at low altitude over Manhattan...and not tell anyone what we're doing!"

Yeah, now that I re-think it, that's a pretty stupid thing to do.

The flyovers we had against Notre Dame and Miami were really, really cool. Just seemed to turn the pre-game excitement up another notch or two (which was hard to do for the ND game, where the atmosphere was well beyond any I had experienced prior at BBDS@HGF).

On the other other hand, anyone remember the C-130 flyover prior to the 2006 game in the cesspool? They didn't make it over the stadium until some 10 minutes after the National Anthem. Totally anti-climactic. Surely a sign of the clusterf**k/Tony Taylor TD that was to come.
