I am taking Marta from Doraville to get there today, and won't be tailgating. Are there any sports bars, or any place to get food and a beer before the game within walking distance to the dome?

The CNN center has food, albeit overpriced and underwhelming. And, it will probably be packed.

Has anyone been to "Stats"? It is owned partly by 790AM. You can pour your own beer at the tables. Anyone tried this place before. I am thinking that is where my pregame will end up.

If your only goal is beer, then go for it. But I'd eat somewhere else. Their menu is an absolute abomination to sports bars. The only thing on there that I could find that sounded good was a bacon cheeseburger - everything else was highly inappropriate for a gameday setting.

What about the food court in the CNN Center - you can get big cheap beers at the Gyro place. Outside of the Dome arena will be nicer, more expensive restaurants (other than Stats) like Legal Sea Food, Ruth's Chris, Maxim Prime, etc.

Actually, Ted's Montana Grill is out there, too - near the Tabernacle.

I was just researching this. Is Jocks n Jills still open? There is a Taco Mac, Ted's, Moe's.

My office is at Courtland and International, which is a mile-and-a-half or two walk (or take Marta to P'Tree Center) there are a few good restaurants there --Hard Rock, Azio's, Mama Ninfa's Mexican, Gibney's (sp), Benihana's, Durango's.

I have decided to drive down instead of Marta. My wife went on coupon.com and got us dinner coupon's to the Avenue on P'Tree Center Avenue. It's a couple of miles from the Dome so I may go ahead and park near the Dome and take Marta to and from the restaurant.

Jocks and Jills is closed.

Sounds like you may be in the same boat as me getting out of Atlanta tonight.

Taco Mac is connected to Philips Arena and the CNN Center, probably be packed all day today though, but so will everything else

Talked with my wife and we're rethinking our approach. We're going to eat prior to getting to the Dome --Winward Parkway or perhaps Lenox area for us.

Another thing I'm considering is parking a mile or two away from the Dome --around my office which has quick access to 85. It will be a mess with the game and the Lil' Wayne concert at Philips getting out about the same time. Of course it'll be in the *30's by the end of the night so that would be a long, cold walk.
