Raid the Big East and induce Va. Tech and Miami to join the ACC, and try to steal SC from the SEC. A divisional approach would allow a playoff like the Big 12, SEC.

Just a fantasy proposal as it will never happen. But it is intriguing to think of the possibilities of turning the ACC into something bigger with a playoff and a couple of more football powers.
 
after the current BCS contract runs out in '05, expect an ACC expansion.

who the teams will be, i dunno
 
i can understand why the tobacco road schools don't want to expand the ACC ..

the bball money is great and the bball competition is awesome .. an expansion will probably not help bball. may not hurt it either but won't be beneficial probably.

and take a look af football this year .. we have set a record by sending 7 teams into bowls. we will collect the most amount of money/team than any other conference .. 7 post season bowl money to share between just 9 teams. that is awesome.

here's a thought .. why not keep the 9 member ACC for bball and add 3 members into the conference for just football .. prolly wont work .. but schools like Notre Dame play football independently however play virtually every other sport in the Big Easy
