Football OL, 2009

They will be in our two deep in 2009 or before.

2009 DL Depth Chart(from memory...I do not have a depth chart in front of me):

DE: Derrick Morgan; Anthony Egbuniwe
DE: Robert Hall; Austin Barrick (may try there in spring; played DE in high school)
DT: Logan Walls; Ben Anderson
DT: Jason Peters; TJ Barnes

Of course we are still recruiting this year...plus Osahon Tongo may move to DE at some point.

Mid, now I think you are the one slipping.

If we get "some recruits" they will be r/s freshmen in 2009 and playing as freshmen, or they will be true sophs, which meant that they played as freshmen in 2008. So unless you for some reason want freshmen to play in 2008 but not 2009, our recruiting at this stage will not help.

I think we are fine through 2009. I think it is 2010 where we might have some line issues.

We have two deep on scholly OL's for '09 as well..no worries.

Well I meant freshman as in true freshman. Many linemen that Tech has recruited in the past needed the building up year their first year.

In 2009, as of right now, we'll only have 8 or so scholarship linemen (Howard, Voss, Claytor, Yandell, Gilbert, Dunmon, Hill, ?). That's a serious problem. We really needed five linemen this year and a couple on the DL too.

I'll take a RS FR who has been in the program a year over a true freshman who has been in the program for 1 month anyday.

We are in serious trouble if we don't land 2 more OL and 1-2 more DT.

Let's hope we get Uzzi and Smith to go with McRae. The other good thing is this years freshman OL's look good.
There are also a few others we may go after like CJ Brown, Evan Epstein, Rhonne Sanderson,etc.
