The part I don't get is even if you aren't a fan you should know some of these answers. The Tom Landry question was really easy and should have been known by at least one of them.
The only question I'd expect a non-football person would know as a matter of general sports knowledge is the fair catch question, simply because it is a game mechanic that occurs a lot. I don't see how a non-fan could be expected to know what team Landry coached for or who the Purple People Eaters were. Similarly, option and offsetting penalties are something only people who really pay attention to the game would pick up on. If you "watch" the games, but in reality are just socializing and cheering after a TD because it is the thing to do, then you aren't going to pick up on what option and offsetting penalties are.
