For 2nd Time In My Life, I\'ll Pull For Mutts...

I really think we can snag a Peach or Gator Bowl berth with VT and UGA wins SAT. I find it hard to believe that the Peach or Gator wants a 5 loss FSU team. Even if UGA loses, I think the Gator would be smart to take us and the Peach take Miami. A UGA/Miami matchup is attractive and I think we would travel well to JAX. I think most Tech fans are pleased with the 7 win season that included wins over AUB and Miami. I think what most of us are ticked about is the 5th straight loss to UGA and letting the NCSU game slip away. But the team played hard all season long and I really loved the tenacity of our "D". And I'll give Reggie Ball credit, he is a fierce competitor and leaves it all on the field. Like I've said before, I think he would have been a great wing/flanker type of player in the mold of Charlie Rogers.

I think the '80 Sugar Bowl was MY first time ever pulling for Notre Dame.

even if they put a gator or peach bowl in writing conditional on ugag winning I would still root for LSU.

The tough choice for me would be given the choice of ugag losing by a missed extra point w/ no time left /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugher.gif OR getting blown out by 40.

points for the blowout are I would watch the whole game and spend much time laughing

for the missed extra point I would probably not watch the whole game. If ugag is competitive or winning I lose interest fast, but the HEARTACHE of a last minute loss is priceless.

I actually feel good about LSU winning this outright. I am thinking maybe a 10pt winning margin.

SouthGA- Sorry , but there is no way in HELL i am pulling for georgia. As bad as I hated it I pulled for Notre Dame way back when, when they played UGAy in the Sugar Bowl I think it was.

1st Time I Pulled For UGA Was Sugar Bowl Vs ND...

I wanted a Southern team to beat ND for the Nat'l Title but I can guarantee you I wasn't exactly cheering. It fact, I remember asking myself what the heck are you doing? Kindof left a bad taste in my mouth. So when the game starts on SAT I'll probably jump up and hope LSU knocks somebody out!!!!!!!

Wow, talking about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I refuse to believe that Tech fans would prefer the Nashville post season game versus the Peach Bowl.
If its about visiting opryland, go see it on your own time.
If its about playing in the best bowl for Tech, its the Peach Bowl versus UF or Ala.

Out of one side of the mouth its about better exposure. Out of the other, its about pulling for Iraq over uga. We had our chance last Saturday night to punch our own ticket, and we couldn't/didn't. Why would anybody want to lose twice?

Does anybody really think that going to the Hee-Haw post season holiday exhibition game in Nashville freakin' Tenn. will help us garner more players to beat uga, or better yet VPI, UVA, UM, etc.? If so, you are nuts.
If we go out and whip Ala. or UF in the Peach, who will care or remember how we got there next year? Certainly not the new or future Tech signees that slept thru the 11am nashville game.

I hope Les Miles and LSwho lays the biggest egg of all time. That is what it will take for uga to win, but if it means we play in the Peach, I am all for it.

I'll take whatever scenario that will enable GT to be selected to the best bowl game available to them. I much prefer the Gator or Peach to Music City.

I don't expect UGA to defeat LSU, but if they do, they do ...just remember that UF is always out there to burst the dawgies bubble. I expect Spurrier & his Gamecocks to ruin their season early next year as well.

On to Notre Dame. I wasn't exactly pulling for UGA in the '81 Sugar Bowl, but I wasn't about to pull for the Irish either. Would have been great if they would have tied that year.

I've only actually pulled for ND twice; I wanted them to defeat USC this year and I obviously wanted them to defeat Colorado in '91 ...they let me down on both occasions so the hell with 'em!

although it is likely we go to the peach bowl if UGA wins, it is not guaranteed by any means.

Can't bring myself to pull for UGA.

I'm going to sequester myself in the library and pretend its not happening. To hell with georgia! And hoorah for whatever is best for Georgia Tech!

If those two things ever conflict, I'll act like a fundamentalist and just throw a stupid question or statement back in response and ignore reality.

Geaux Tigers! If FSU loses, Miami and BC deserve the Gator and Peach. If they snub BC, (which I think is unfair, if they are in the ACC they should get the bowl they earn on the field), don't you think Spurrier-Bowden might interest the Peach? Are we sure the Gator would prefer us over the orange horde of Clempsun fans?

UGA, 2005 SEC Champions - now there's a T-shirt I REALLY don't want to see. So, I'll head to Nashville gladly and cheer this Saturday, "Hot boudin, cold couscous, come on Tigers, Push! Push! Push!"

Ok South Ga. for the good of the program I will try very hard to root for the dogs. Im trying, really I am.... Nah! Can't do it. Sorry I cannot forget the first four words my daddy taught me as a young child TO HELL WITH GEORGIA !
