I think we need to be a little better in how we gameplan and call the game in the first half.

IOW, we need to establish the run first. In our last 2 games, we've come out and tried to fling the ball around before we've established Hollings. I think that's silly. If you noticed, AJ looked alot better in the 2nd half, after BYU started to really respect Hollings. The same thing happened to a lesser degree against Clemson.

When Joe was our QB, the other teams really had to respect that option. The last few years, teams really had to look for Joe Burns. In both cases, Godsey and Joe's passing game benefitted.

This year, we should be a run first type of team. After that, the passing game and play action will open up. If we just go out every game and throw alot early on, AJ won't be able to get untracked.

BTW, I do think AJ is a good QB. He made some good throws yesterday. He also made some bad throws. Most of his good throws came after BYU was Hollings-whipped.

If Hollings comes back, that'll be great. IF not, someone else will have to step up and be that running threat that AJ needs.

It looks to me like the OL is MUCH better right now at run blocking - and then blocking with play action passing. Suggs seems more comfortable with play action passing as well.....

It looks to me like we are primarily a run oriented team, both in terms of the OL play and Suggs play - regardless of who the RB is....

When we are running well, and go to play action, things seem much smoother IMO
