it is premature for all the Gailey Haters to celebrate this GT loss.

1. there are TWO more games left and a win in EITHER spells DOOM

2. Auburn won tonight SO THAT WIN KEEPS GETTING BIGGER...if Auburn wins the SEC that probably spell DOOM

3. It may already be a done deal. The clemson and nc wins are viewed as strong wins b/c of their follow up victories.

So the Gailey Haters still need some more GT losses and Auburn losses.
 
Auburn and UNC success or failure have no bearing

on Gailey at this point...
only thing that matters now is how we play in our last 2 games...especially uga...
 
law, I'm not a Gailey hater, but I don't think Clemson and UNC matter anymore. We have arguable the toughest schedule I can remember at Tech with very little room for error. Losing to both UVA and NCSU have left Chan with no wiggle room. 6 wins just isn't a good year, no matter how you spin it. I would bet Chan would agree with that. He needs to get one more IMO to get his extension. If we extend a coach who goes 6-5 in his 4th season it really does send a message that we're okay with that kind of record.

Who is celebrating ? Not me I like to celebrate when we win. Maybe if he was replaced we could celebrate more often
 
L_B, do you use this same type logic in court? The reason you fear change at any level is because you fear that if Tech gets a good to great coach we might just start putting a hurt on the mongrels. With CCG and company there is not much chance of that.

Take a look a Florida. They get rid of the best coach they ever had and then bring in Zook. They decide to run Zook off then bring in the guy w/ the GOOFY OFFENSE. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugher.gif

How bout Nebraska? They get rid of a guy they feel is not quite up to snuff and look and see where they are at

I honestly feel you people will not be happy until GT is 2-9 and getting hammered by Clemson, NC, and Wake.

GT will not bounce back like UF and Nebraska. In the NEW acc the hole can get pretty deep FAST.

We will see. I was a GT fan long before CG got here and will be one long after he is gone. If you plug in a different coach and we start reeling of 10/11 win seasons and dominating Miami and VT I will be the FIRST to admit I was wrong.

Hopefully the admins understand that if your coach is doing better than half the ACC now is not the time to pull the plug.

CG OWNS Tuberville! 11+pt dogs @ home WIN the first time and then 7pt dogs ON THE ROAD another WIN.

What was GT's record versus Awwbbarrn for the 7 games prior to CG.....was it 0-7?

I am sure the NEXT coach you bring in here after you run off CG will be able to MEASURE up to the 0-7 record.

What's so funny? If you're going to beat Auburn, you will be expected to beat a lesser opponent down the stretch when it means something.
 
If it is true that a decision would be made on who our HC should be based on how Auburn plays, then that is 100% proof that everyone from cloughtheclown on down should be fired.
 
Duke is the ONLY team in the ACC that has NOT lost to a lessor team maybe VT as well but too early to tell.

So I guess Miami, F$U, BC, MD, Clemson, Wake and ALL the rest do not measure up to that standard.

I'm not a Gailey hater, but I do find it a little curious that after a GT win you immediately post "Tough day for the Gailey Haters" like you are trying to summarize anyone who is critical of Gailey and create a wall effectively telling them that they are not able to enjoy the win like Gailey supporters.

Yet, when we lose and lose like we did last night with really poor QB play, you come on here and make a post like this, effectively telling people who have been critical of Gailey that they may not criticize the coach yet. That their criticisms are unwarranted.

Good win at Auburn, however, if we played them today it PROBABLY would be a different ending. Auburn has improved immensely during season. I do not see improvement such as that on our side. Auburn does have more talent but who is in charge of our talent....could it possibly bee CGee?
 
I agree as well, I don't think our defense can stop Kenny Irons and a more matured Cox, who looks downright cold in that pocket. Our 4 pics did them in but I just don't see Cox making that many mistakes if we were to play them now.
 
Auburn has improved as the year has progressed. That's normal. What's not normal is that we don't improve.
I should rephrase: except for Tech, its not normal...
