Is Coleman Rudolph's father, also the "Jakie Rudolph" who made the "$125,000 tackle" against Alabama...can't tell from the 1992 Media Guide.

TIA

I believe so....

seems that was part of the hoopla when he was recruited..... but I could be wrong. There was nowhere near the coverage of such things in the late 80's as there is with recruiting now....

Believe Jakie was an assistant coach for Wright Bazemore et al in Valdosta.....

No, the game saving tackle against UA was in "52. I believe Coleman's Dad played later and was much bigger.

Little Jakie Rudolph broke all their hearts when he stopped Bobby Marlow-an orphan from Troy, Alabama, whom consider one of the greatest runners in the history of the South-short on fourth down near the goal line.

Rudolph came up from his safety postion to fill a hole at the line of scrimmage and flip Marlow. The infamous stop became known as the "$125,000 tackle" because it secured Tech's spot in the Sugar Bowl which paid each participant $125,000
