Coleman, let me say this. You were behind one fine football coach. Chris Hatcher is without question one of the brighest coaching minds in America, and had GT gotten him, he would have returned the passion to the Flats.
In his first year at GSU, his passion, his ability to interact with fans, alumni and players resulted in the largest per game attendance in GSU football history.
There are some stories that his players have told that basically say they would die for Hatcher. They love and respect him that much. I don't know how long GSU can keep him, but he's not the kind of guy who moves around much. Regardless of the money, it would be tough for him to walk away from the GSU program after one year. His family, especially his young son absolutely loves it there, and his wife really likes Statesboro. He's made some commitments to kids and it would have been tough for him to leave so quickly. He's the kind of guy who lives by his word.
Now, that being said, GT has hired one tremendous football coach in PJ. Get behind him and watch him roll. I can promise you that his offense will be entertaining and effective.
Hard to imagine that UGA now has the third best college coach in the state.
