Should the play in the 3rd quarter have been blown dead? They only showed one replay at the game and it was after the "indisputable video evidence". It looked like the the guy had someone in the pile hand him the ball while down but I wasn't sure.

Alot of the UGA fans around me were very embarrassed and one even said it was the worst call he had ever seen. Was it indeed a blown call? What did the guys on CBS have to say about it?

If it was, then I would say officiating certainly played a role in the loss. UGA was scoreless at that point and didn't score on their own until 2 minutes to go.

I thought it should of been blown dead to sort out the pile. It was at least very close to being blown dead.

Taylor wasn't down though. Reggie funbled (while scrambling for maybe 2 yards on 3 and 16) and one of our line tried to jump on it. He overshot the ball somewhat and it go t stuck between his legs. Freakish play to say the least.

Here's what I know - the refs were holding GT players away from the pile, trying to dig to the ball.

If that is true then the call is complete BS. I watched it a couple of times and didn't notice it and have since deleted the game from my TIVO.

There was definitely at least one ref trying to dig into the pile. How he could do that without a whistle being blown is a mystery to say the least.

It should have been .... yes. But it wasn't and the play isn't dead until they do. UGA took advantage of playing until the whistle and we didn't.

One offshoot of instant replay is that the officials are much slower blowing the whistle on any type of strange play. Once the whistle blows, they can overturn a mistake (meaning if it should not of been blown).
