For what its worth regarding "exceptions"....

Re: a couple of questions.....

Tarver situation was far different than a new recruit. Tarver is a senior and was distracted by the death of his mother which affected his performance in class. The appeals committed has a lot of precedent for overturning cases such as this. I had a friend while at GT that did the same thing.

Gailey has asked for more exceptions than the three Braine mentioned and received them.

For instance, this year Neild was an exception that was publicly discussed on these boards and is the only reason I mention his name.

Ricardo Matthews was one that was declined multiple times and Gailey successfully fought for to only have the kid waggle at the end.

However, there is one kid he unsuccessfully fought for that had ended up with a competitor that had committed to us for a key position and had the grades and test score. The coaches assertion is that after many meetings with the kid, his coach, his family, and his teachers they knew he could make it. These very situations are the ones we have to trust a head coach with. It is not like he is asking for exceptions on kids with 2.5 GPA's and 800 SAT's...which UGA signs on a regular basis.

This will be discussed in the coming months.
