For recruiting this time, Scout has us ranked at 37

Rivals has us ranked at 49

Who do you think is the closest to being correct?

If you were doing the ranking poll, where would you rank GT?

What kind of a recruiter do you think PJ will become for GT?

I'd put us about 20 or so, for the quality of the players we have committed now, but for now I have to say that we are a little too one-dimensional to be rated highly. I'd imagine also that there are MANY teams tied at that spot - since Scout seemingly hasn't evaluated anyone.

I think CPJ will end up being a great recruiter for us, especially with the in-home visits. Being the coach at the Naval Academy, I guess helps people instantly respect you. All the recruits who have done interviews with us have praised his demeanor and knowledge of both their strengths and the way those strengths would be used, along with his confidence and football knowledge. I'd have to say also that selling GT would probably be easier than selling the Naval Academy.

EDIT: I sure hope you meant this year and not last year.

There's very little difference between 37 and 49.

For what it's worth, our ACC ranking this year and last year were the two best years since Scout started keeping track of it.

I'm not really sure where we should be ranked. With what we're trying to do -- install a new offensive system -- attempting to rank us is very difficult. How we did on the defensive side of the ball would be a better measure, I think.

CPJ will be a great recruiter, if we win. He has the credibility, the connections, and the roster spots to be very successful. Everyone likes a winner, though. Without some success against the teams we're not supposed to beat, I think he'll be average as a recruiter.

I think he will be a good recruiter, if we were to upset UGAG this year the recruiting would take off. I truly believe he will beat UGAG about 50 percent of the time.

Our class this year was ranked higher by both services than the class where we landed Calvin.

Thats not true. We've had top 20 classes on Scout when O'Leary was here. This may be the highest ranking still in the database.

Scout wasn't even around when O'Leary was our coach. TheInsiders (which later changed it's name to Scout) broke off from Rivals somewhere around 2002. Rivals was around previous to that, but they no longer have their rankings from those years online. I believe that can't use those anymore after TheInsiders guys broke off to start their own site.

"Since they've been keeping track" ~ Gailey era. Still it's a good sign, though.
