Foster to interview with Clem(P)son

I can't imagine that it wouldnt have a pretty significant impact on the VT defense, he's been DC there for 10 year or so now, and is a very big part of the day to day for their players. And he's pretty good at what he does. Has his own website and such so would be good with fans. I'm not scared of him being at Clemson or anything like that, but I do think he'll be a successful HC when he gets the nod.

I think Foster would be a horrible HC. He's got a cold personality like Tenuta. The Clemson defense will scheme better but they will regress significantly in recruiting.

This is wonderful. We'll only have to play Bud Foster once, and he'll be out of our division instead of in it. And I doubt he's as good a HC as he is a DC.

Anything to get him out of a DC role is a good thing for us.

He may be the best DC in the country. Would love to see him go out of conference. Who knows? Look at Van Gorder. Good DC = horrible head coach.

We could play him a max of twice now, as opposed to only once before.

Bud was in the mix when we hired Gailey. He'll always be around and probably should be but he's Beamer's Asst and that's what he does best.

Clemson is an idiot if they don't hire Bobby Johnson.

bobby johnson is way overrated. he's never had a winning season. I don't care if it's vandy. A good coach could produce a couple winning seasons there.

I agree, it would be good for us. It might be bad for the conference as a whole though. Foster is a big part of VT's success, if he leaves it could bring a decline at VT and Clemson.

Why should you care? I lived in Nashville for 13 years. I have family associated with the institute. It ain't no small thing. Check the man's resume. He's a loser according to you?

Get your facts straight on Johnson.

Also there is a reason Vandy USED TO hold the longest bowl drought for BCS conference teams by more 10 years. more than anyone else Being in the SEC east and being Vanderbilt makes it almost a miracle for any good coach to win 6.

Bobby Johnson = Tommy Bowden. Nice guy, great person, and some great records before coming to a BCS conference (Furman/Tulane) but no results on the big stage. Johnson didn't even have a winning season with Jay Cutler. And for the SEC argument? A good coach wins anywhere (ie. Spurrier at Duke, Grobe at Wake).
