Does anyone out there prefer the Fox coverage to the typical ABC/ESPN coverage? I really just cant get into the game with the announcers they have. I am no fan of NFL, so probably those who watch NFL might think differently. Just don't think it's the same without the gameday guys. Bring back ESPN...

Not a fan. In order of preference give me ESPN Gameday Crew, ESPN other, ABC, CBS.. the commercial milking corp that they are, JP.. though the signal isnt too good most of the time the guys tend to be more off the cuff, and coming in dead last is Fox. I just havent been impressed.

Good thread, I have been thinking the same thing. Not only the announcers but the setup of the scoreboard and clock on the screen, I prefer ESPN/ABC.

Another thing I like, did you guys notice during the Gator Bowl how often CBS showed stat updates for Taylor, Calvin, and Tashard? Of course, the only stat that matters is points, but it was just neat to have that to look at.

Back to Fox, though, how does Jeanne Zalasko(sp?) compare to the sideline personalities of ESPN/ABC? Not so good IMO.

I think it may be a case of “the grass is always greener”. Even though the game callers are not as fluent with the college game, due to the fact they’re NFL guys, I really like the FOX presentation much more than CBS. CBS is just plain as grits and, unless your team is playing, not interesting. ESPN college football coverage hasn’t improved any over the past 5 years and I think the College Football Final crew is downright horrible. Lou Holtz- major lisp, Mark May- major asshat and extremely arrogant. I think if FOX threw their hat in full-time for NCAA football coverage, it would improve the ESPN product and force CBS out, eventually, or CBS would get to pick games just before LF (old JP).

At least with Fox, we're guaranteed we won't have to listen to Keith Jackson stumble through another BCS title game.

I thought it was funny the way they kept saying that WF has not seen a WR like whoever that kid was for Louisville all season.

Well, we didnt exactly show Wake the same Calvin that we showed West Virginia...

I kept noticing the audio was amateurish. Sounded like a local news broadcast for much of the pregame. Guys would start talking with the mike off.

Frankly the Sugar Bowl with the NFL crew was my favorite BCS game so far. Maybe it's just me, but I get a kick out of Terry Bradshaw a lot of times. Or maybe I was just enjoying LSU beating the hell out of ND.

In general, I don't enjoy any college football on CBS or Fox.

I noticed that the sound for the Notre Dame Band playing their Fight song (during pre-game)was good to decent; however, the LSU band playing "Tiger Rag" was barely audible. Hope that wasn't on purpose.

Well, I think we know the reason why that is.
