My goodness, I hope this is not an indicator of things to come. Aside from me really being pissed about the outcome of the game, the coverage is just terrible.

Talk about replays while showing a closeup of some guys head, but never showing the actual replay. Show as many odd crowd shots as you can, talk about hair styles, and try to make as many references to Jimmy Johnson as possible.

I'm sure they paid out the butt for it, but its ridiculous that a network that doesnt carry any college games the rest of the season gets the biggest ones!

Maybe they'll improve, but I doubt it, CBS is bad enough but this is just terrible.

It's awful. I knew it would be too. Fox doesn't do college football all year, and then they get the biggest games of the year. It makes money sense, but it doesn't make quality sense.

Second rate last year. Second rate this year. Thom Brennaman is no football announcer. Their coverage is watered down for casual sidewalk fans.

Say what you want about ESPN/ABC, but they are head and shoulders above anyone when it comes to CFB coverage.

Agreed. This is one thing I came away with after last year's FOX coverage of the BCS, and nothing happened tonight to change my mind. It just seems that games on ESPN/ABC are just more exciting. A 41-10 game called by Herbstriet/Musberger or Blackledge/Patrick would have been much more exciting than it ended up being tonight.

College Football on Fox just doesn't seem right...I miss when the games were on ABC with their cool music and overall outstanding broadcasts.

I have so many good memories of watching the BCS games on ABC through the years. Sad thing is I think Fox's contract lasts through like 2012 so we will have to endure many more years of this.

Doesn't Fox carry PAC10 and Big 12 games during the season?

After watching yesterday's Rose Bowl, I'd have to disagree. I've never been a Musberger fan anyway. Not enough shots of the Southern Cal cheerleaders. Illinois was the second most-overrated team playing yesterday. And FWIW, the Cotton Bowl coverage wasn't any better for a lousy game.

I could have gone all year without a Tarkenton sighting though.

Speaking of ol' Fran, it looked like he died during the Reagan administration and someone just dug him out of an old closet somewhere so they could prop him up on the Fox set.

Was that Pat Summeral callling the Ark-Missouri game? I thought he was dead. He's still got a great voice and pace of calling a game. Nobody lets a game breathe like he does anymore.

The other painful thing about watching that game was the commercials. It was almost as bad as the Superbowl in terms of how many there were.

At least as bad as Monday Night Football. Change of possession...go to commercial. After kickoff, go to commercial. Ugh

The bad thing about Fox is they went to commercial as soon as any replay was announced, then at least 75% of the time did not get back on the air in time to catch the call. We were left to fill in the pieces (on most of the penalties also) because the goons in the booth sure had no clue what happened.
