Fox Sports: A look at JT's career

Senior year: 53.4% completion rate, but 10.5 yards per attempt. Also, only threw 2 interceptions to 8 TDs. 157 passer rating.

Fun to watch J. Thomas run the offense.

Good read. It was fun to watch the guy play and it'll be some time before we have someone that good under center again. The first thing that will always come to mind for me with Thomas is the Pumble against Georgia in 2014. After they turned that mistake into a touchdown and everything seemed to be going as usual on the way to more heartbreak against those idiots, I had seen him during the entire drive and after, sitting on the bench with his head in his hands and I gave up any hope for a miracle, since that would require him to come back out and answer and he looked defeated already. But that turned out to be a mistake - Richt made a stupid call, gave us the tiniest sliver of hope and Thomas made them pay for it. The subsequent kick and pick are the legends of the game but Justin's run with :13 to go was every bit as clutch. Twice, Georgia had us beaten in ways we had seen far too many times before and twice Justin Thomas responded with a "öööö you, my state." Any quarterback who can take the Good Word and make it real on the field is a god in my mind. Combine that with his other accomplishments and there's no doubt whatsoever that he belongs alongside names like Joe, Jones and Godsey.

god it's late

There's one thing about our QBs stats that's never picked up on, and that's the pitch. It's essentially a short pass. If you counted all those pitches as passes, the passing completion % and total yards would be ridiculous for our QBs.

I look forward to bringing my son into BDS one day and telling him stories when he asks me who some of the names are. Calvin, D Thomas, etc. there will be some good ones I got to see live, but watching Justin Thomas run the option was just a thing of beauty. He was perfect for this system, and I thank him for a big ol' bowl of oranges and back-to-back wins against Georgia in Athens. The kick in 14 doesn't happen without his scramble. The dive in 16 doesn't happen if he isn't a threat to catch the ball out of the backfield. Back shoulder throws to Smelter, the deep bomb to Waller in Miami as Mussberger says"[coach] said when we throw it we mean it", dozens of dives for the pylon, showing his linemen how he wants them to play using a whiteboard on the sidelines, becoming a sophomore captain; the guy is a great representative of Tech and a heck of an athlete.
