I think Edwards if eligible or Marcus Wright. My darkhorse is a punter. One punter looked good at T-Day (cant remember name, i think #24).

I get the feeling the Jaybo might wind up just busting out big this summer and grab the starting job.

If Jaybo wins it, do you think Nesbitt will move over to A-Back, B-back, or safety?

No way Jaybo or anyone else takes the qb job away unless there is injury, in which case Nesbitt isn't moving anyway.

I'll be honest when I say I'm still looking for reading on A-Backs and B-Backs to educate me a little more on those positions. I don't know if or which Nesbitt would fit into.

Jaybo just impressed the hell out of me at the spring game. His wheels never stopped turning.

Nesbitt will SHINE in august practices.

Bank on that. He didnt even get to practice half of the spring.

I heard he looked good in spring scrimmages before he got hurt. I hope he SHINES. The thoughts of starting a true freshman QB again scares the **** out of me.

I dont think Nesbitt would fit either position. Safety is the only other position he could possibly be a starter.

No way josh nesbitt doesnt start. He was a BEAST when he played in spring. I remember one saturday he just totally took over. I think the second scrimmage. Couldnt be stoped. Hes only had bout 11 pratices at most.

just from sheer lack of depth Marcus Wright and Peeples may have to play at A-back

I agree. I think both of them are going to be good. Peeples, from what I've seen and read, seems to be a bit more of a PJ or TC back. That is to say, he's big enough to knock you over, but small enough to get around the corner. Wright, on the other hand, sounds like what we always wanted Evans to be: a quick back that can catch the defense napping. I feel like the Gailey regime tried to turn Evans into something he wasn't, which is why he never turned out the way I expected. I expect PJ's system to cater more to our backs' differences, instead of trying to change them into something else.

You've got your white guys mixed up. Bryce Dykes is the walkon who played 2'nd string QB in the spring game that impressed you. Jaybo Shaw is a freshman we signed this year that won't practice with the team until summer camp.

Marcus Wright & Nick McRae.

Peeples, unless he has bulked up over the summer, needs to get bigger and stronger. Wright, although short is actually pretty solid. If Peeples is big & strong enough and can throw the blocks required of him--with the departing of Evans--he might play also. But I'm guessing he needs to develop physically.

McRae is experienced with the offense, is smart, and is physically ready. Voss needs a back up badly, and center is a key position on this offense. So I think McRae sees some action.

As far as QB goes, I see Nesbitt, Dykes, and Booker as the top three, with Washington & Shaw redshirting. Who knows...we may get a surprise like Washington playing A-back. He is more physically ready than Shaw.

Does anyone know if/when Mario Edwards will be eligible?

He's applying for a hardship waiver with the NCAA, and if granted will be elligible this year. If not, then next year. Apparently, he's got a good chance of getting it granted.
