Parking Information for Tech / U[sic]GA Football

· Parking lots around Alexander Memorial Coliseum (AMC) will be restricted for men’s basketball parking for Friday, 11/25/05. If you intend on parking an RV overnight next to AMC, you must have a GTAA football parking permit. Even then, you won’t be able to get into the lot until after the men’s basketball game (around 10 PM), unless you have a GTAA basketball parking permit.

· Cash parking lots will open at 8:00 AM on Saturday, 11/26/05 at $10 per space. (i.e. If you park in one space and set up a tail-gate in another, you will be charged an additional $10 per space).

· Anyone parking on grass, landscaped areas, or sidewalks will be booted and/or towed.

· Anyone breaking or damaging GT parking equipment or facilities will be subject to fines and/or criminal charges.

If we had space for everyone to come on campus early, we'd be more than happy to have it that way. Unfortunately, we don't.
 
yeah, still nazi's though. I'll give it to you guys, most of the time gamedays are handled well, cept some issues with getting to some greek area houses this year, but that was someone outside the offices fault. It was during the regular week days that I hated you guys, specially when you would give tickets to cars parked in the wrong lot, when the lot wasn't full... bastards /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nono.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

We have never met, but could you please make a one time exception and let me double park in the Edge lot Saturday night? I have a bit of a swollen ankle and shouldn't be walking on it too much. Thanks in advance, p_w.

Unfotunately, if it ain't on the east side of the connector, I don't have anything to do with it. You may want to check the main parking office.
 
Will there be a problem parking along Cherry St. next to the baseball field with a camper Friday night? The first few games (and last 3 years) there was no problem, but now its blocked off unless you have a handicaped sticker.

AFAIK, those spaces are reserved for handicapped people with GTAA permits.

I worked for the parking office as an undergrad several years ago, and I too was amazed at the things I heard on a daily basis. I wasn't all that suprised at what I heard, but was often suprised at who the comments came from. Some of the dirtiest, nasty comments came from the sweetest looking girls...

No, he said that "we shouldn't expect to be there 3 hours before the game consistently. We might occasionally be allowed in 4 or 5 hours ahead of time, but fans from the 50s, 60s, and 70s need to understand that things have changed and it's just not as easy to tailgate anymore."

You got that right. It'll be worse in years to come. Getting to the center of campus with a car is going to be harder and harder. FYI, the parking area in front of the Architecture building (E43) is going away after spring semester and Atlantic will dead-end next to the Van Leer Building. The parking lot and street will be torn up and turned into greenspace.
