I don't ever remember Fridge and O'Leary getting beat this bad at Tech but I agree there was usually one poor offensive game per year.

Friedgen & staff got badly outcoached by HC Al Groh & staff. Looked like UVa had Md's gameplan on the sidelines with them. Terrapins were not ready to play & Virginia was simply ready to knock the slober outta everybody in white.
Also, the Virginia players gave all their motivation to Coach Friedgen's runoff at the mouth of his quote "we expect to beat Duke & Virginia". Several were quoted as saying they were offended by Friedgen's remarks comparing them to Duke & wanted to beat the crap outta Md, which they did.
Ralph will probably learn to keep his mouth shut, publicly, about who he expects to beat.
