Friedgen 105 pounds lighter!

I lost around 60 pounds before I found out I had hypothyroidism, so the whole young age helping me doesn't apply. The key is watching your calories and exercising. It's insane how unaware a lot people are about nutrition though, so to say that it's that simple is not exactly true. I mean, it is simple, but some just don't understand.

this thread sux for people with fast metabolisms such as myself.

My metabolism moves about as fast as AJ Suggs, so screw you.

Actually, somebody made the point a slow metabolism is something that's an evolutionary advantage. People with fast metabolism burn all that excess energy up, whether they use it or not.

Based on the scant research I've done, it does seem like the type and amount of carbs, not necessarily the pure amounts of calories, make the most difference. I'm sure I could count the number of calories in a cup of gasoline, but I doubt it would have the same effects as bread with the same number of calories.
