At the end of the game with the score tied at 38, Tech called time to get the field goal team out. UVA then called time to ice the kicker.
Sisson said he was nervous. Pat Watson (OL coach) tried to tell him a joke, but couldn’t remember it.
Then Scott Aldredge (the holder) starting asking everybody what they wanted their national championship ring to look like, and that eased the tension.
