Trust me, I'm trying to resist, but here is part of the report on Reggie's workout from the AJC.

On the fly routes, the receivers were to make a stutter step at 15 yards and then keep going up the field. Akron quarterback Luke Getsy's pass for Ball was thrown too far outside and was incomplete.

Somehow....there is a poetic justice to this.;)

I think he needs to finish his degree.NFL for him means Notfor long

Why do so many take such delight in the failure of others?

Reggie likely won't make it, but I still wish the very best for him. I hope he finds a way.

And I also hope he gets his degree, which I bet he will.

Two years down the road - maybe even only one - this won't be brought up again. The bad taste is still fresh in everyone's mouth over the meltdown that occurred during the last half of his SR. year. It's hard to just let it go when you've got UGA fans reminding you of it every so often. Stomp UGA this year, and Reggie will be thought of no more.

The four games Reggie played against Ga will always give folks reason to vent.He willnot go away even if we beat ga

Heh, no. Reggie will live in infamy as the worst quarterback we've ever had, based on the outcome of two close games, because those games were so big they're burned into our memory for all time.

I was trying to be optimistic about it. I actually feel the same way about it as you do. I'm just hoping this year vs. UGA will ease our minds.

Well, I think a lot of this stems from real life encounters with Reggie Ball. I have heard very few firsthand stories that reflected well of Ball. However, I have read some interviews with him that seemed to contradict that. Then again, I've read interviews which would seem to indicate the former.

Remember, RB was the 8th leading rusher in the ACC at mid season. And Tech was 9-2 going into the GA game.
Reggie had a bad UGA game becasue of one play (fumble). (And he had 2 or 3 good passes dropped by our receivers.) Oh, and UGA was more talented than Tech and playing at home.

Reggie had a bad Wake game becasue of the play calling. Absolutely horrible play calling.

And Reggie didn't play in the Gator Bowl that we lost.

Despite the average talent level on Tech's team over the last 4 years, lost schollies, and the upgrade of the ACC, RB had a good, winning career.

I quit reading after that. You should be quite pleased with the qb play over the next several years if you were satisfied with the last 4 year term, and I don't care who plays.

Putting any Reggie bashing aside...you really think that UGA was more talented than Tech last year? What makes you say that?

Even if those 3 passes had been caught, he would've been 9 of 22 (41%). He also threw two interceptions in addition to that fumble.

Even without the fumble, that was not a good day for Reggie Ball.

I didn't say it originally, but yes, no question UGA has more talent than us.....depth wise.

I'd say it's pretty much even for the starters, and probably closer than it's ever been for some of the 2 deep, but on the overall roster, well, 5 consecutive top 10 recruiting classes will certainly give you quality depth.

Dude, he threw for 42 yards, lost 31 yards in sacks, and had 3 turnovers that led to 10 points. His game vs UGA was solidly wretched, from the opening gun to the closing bell. Quite possibly the worst QB performance of any team vs any other team this year.

Reggie had a bad Wake game becasue he couldn't hit the broadside of a barn, completely failed to make reads, threw into coverage, and all around sucked donkey schlong.
Fixed. Our playcalling vs Wake wasn't significantly different than it was for nearly every other game, including West Virginia.

4.74 in the forty no surprise there.

For comparison, Gaines Adams, Clemson DE, 6'5, 265, ran a 4.68. There might be the reason, RB couldn't outrun the LB or the DE to the corner when under pressure.....

Enough with the past and onward with the future....

Damn right RB didn't play in the Gator Bowl! We put up 35 points, remember? GT scored one TD in the UGA and WF game with RB in at QB.

Play calling didn't have a freakin' thing to do with RB's poor performances in either game. He was not a good college QB, far from it, and our football team suffered because of it.

Well, he's not a good passing college QB. Early in the year when he could still run he was effective running the spread offense. After his injuries he was limited in his mobility and he just wasn't going to beat many people throwing the ball. And play calling did have something to do with losing the ugag and ACCC games. If you can't throw, you run the damn ball. Nix insisted on throwing it anyway and that's why we lost imo. You can blame Reggie if you want, and he deserves some, but if you're the OC you call what will work, not what you have on your script.
