Well, FedEx just left and I got my Jax tix, but I think Mother Tech could have done a bit better job than to string me out until THE DAY BEFORE I AM LEAVING! Jeez, just how hard is it to send tickets out when then end of the reservation period was like 10 or more days ago.

What about the folks who traveled yesterday and had reserved their tix? Nothing like paying $180 thru the AA and then having to scalp when you get there.

Anyway, this isn't the first time I've been anxious about ticket arrival. I'm going to think a bit more next time before I bite on the reservation deal the AA offers.

Hope they do better for the Orange Bowl (as T. Choice says, "I only know about one bowl.") cause I did the reservation thingy for that game also.

BTW, it is now UGA game day +5 and I'm still hurting. I think the hurt is turning the corner towards pissed. Hope the team feels the same way. I wish I could hate Wake. I'm going to make up some crap on them to motivate myself.

Hate Wake

Here's your 'Hate Wake' panacea:

Towards the end of the 1988 season, with GT mired in an 0-13 ACC losing streak, that saw them finish last in 1987, the final conference game of the '88 season was at Wake Forest. GT lost the game 28-24, there was a WF sign at the game that read, "Welcome to the basement Techies!"

In a post-game interview, Bobby Ross was near tears as he lamented as to whether or not his program was ever going to be able to turn it around. This indeed was a dark day for the program with back-to-back years of finishing last.

Of course there was a happy ending to this story as the 1989 team won 7 of it's last 8 games, including a 33-22 thrashing of UGA. They were snubbed by the bowls which, if you read Kim King's "Tales From the Georgia Tech sideline", motivated them for the following season, which of course saw the Jackets win the 1990 NC.

So there you go, now you can 'Hate Wake" with conviction.

Yep, that's it. I hate those bastards. I could hurtfully tease their pets. I'm one mean dude.

My F-I-L Is A WF Grad

Unique perspective, I know, but it helps make me look forward to grinding them into cocoa butter.
