Karma Makes Arrogant Florida State a Ramblin Wreck

Rock Westfall of Mike Farrell Sports published an article Saturday night after the Trch win over favored FSU discussing karma’s affect over the Tallahassee program’s attempt to leave the ACC.

After discussing FSU’s shortfalls and whining, he concludes his article with,
“Perhaps the Big Ten would be interested in an excellent AAU engineering school who plays quality football and is located in the Atlanta megamarket.”

Perhaps Brent Key’s hard work with an amazing group of overachievers will attract the right kind of national attention!

Go Jackets!

Don’t blame FSU for wanting out of the ACC especially after being snubbed by the BCS. That was wrong.

No, it was not wrong. FSU has their star player injured. They would have gotten curb stomped, just like UGAg curb stomped them, going into the CFP without Travis.

The better team was selected. The quit in FSU for the UGAg game was telling about FSU's culture. Both teams had significant players missing. Both teams had 27 players gone from the roster. FSU crybabied for weeks while UGAg prepped with discipline and focus.

All true. Facts are facts. Bobby is probably rolling over in his grave at what a bunch of crying vajayjays the the nulls have become. Especially Kannel.

And MAYBE they could have felt bad if it was just their #1 QB down. But when UF killed #2QB Rodemaker with that dirty hit, it was all over. You’re not bringing your TF 3rd string QB to the playoffs. That’s just ignant

The 2014 CFP championship MVP would beg to differ. Not saying FSU had a chance, but it's not unprecedented.

FSU would have gotten in if they were in The B1G or SEC. The ACC is at best the 3rd best, and probably 4th or 5th best CFB conference by most objective measures. That being said, you and the article are correct. FSU ain’t what they used to be, even though their fans don’t see it that way.

I'm not so sure objective measures could put the PAC2 or a mid-major ahead of the ACC. I think we're a solid 3, especially since the last big12 national championship was Texas almost 20 years ago... and they're in the SEC now.

Rodemaker would have been back for bowl season, wouldn't he? I thought he was just out for the ACCCG.

Fair. On second look, I didn’t complete my recollection of the my thought process at the time. The concussion prevented him from being able to show up and prove it vs UL and the TF laid an egg instead so Rodemaker was still a relative unknown with one game vs a scrub and a lackluster showing vs UF. It wasn’t like he set the world on fire in his 2 games, but him having even a solid game vs UL would have certainly kept them relevant.

If the point of the playoffs is to make good matchups, then leaving FSU out was the right call - they had no shot without a QB. If the point is to be a “real” playoff and not a subjective beauty contest, then FSU should have been in based on their resume. But who cares, öööö FSU.

FSU wasn't gonna win a natty last year. They were gonna get their ass kicked on an even bigger stage.

I was (and still am) firmly in the camp of FSU was robbed. That being said, the shear level of tantrum that entire fanbase proceeded to unleash on the CFB world for the last 9 months was an embarrassment.

I’d estimate the majority of the country (outside the SE essentially) was on their side. Then they started bitching about the world being against them so much that everybody started to hate them. So now the world really against them.

On social media at least, there’s been a noticeable shift in interaction between ACC fanbases the last few months. Feels like they’re rallying around each other. And I think a lot of that is uniting around a common enemy in FSU.

They weren't robbed.

Had Travis not gotten injured, they were in. Without Travis, they were maybe a top 30 team. And yes, I know they won the ACC. I can't help it Louisville sucks
