FSU Worries?

I know, I know... they lost to USF and BC... but that's exactly my point. They are gonna come home to a tough practice week and maybe get their heads screwed on straight.

Our offense is solid, and I'm thoroughly convinced after UNC and MSU that we've got a good passing game and that we've got our running game down-pat. It's just the defense.

Miami's defense is tough, and they still only beat FSU by 4. Our defense looked a little shaky against MSU, especially against the pass...

Anyone think the Noles will more be hungry for a win next week? Maybe even bring out the black jerseys?

Our guys better not play them with any less effort because our offense is doing better lately and they're sucking, but I believe we'll pull a win.
 
Our defense didn't look a little shaky tonight. It looked like an FCS squad. I'm very worried. I'd hope that our offense can keep our defense off the field and hopefully get a couple of turnovers, but if we fall behind we may be in deep trouble because I'm not expecting us to make any stops.
 
It is extremely hard to tell how FSU will come out next week. They have FSU pride, but they have an anemic head coach. They have great athletes, but poor execution. They play at home, but their only home win was 13-9 over Jax St.

Personally, I'll give the defense one more chance. Something no one has mentioned is the possibility of the defense looking ahead to what would be believed to be the better offensive team. Likely? probably not, but that's why I want to see. Won't throw em off the boat till they do the same **** twice. Even if UNC's offense sucked, they held together and did their job.
 
Here's hoping that they quit. But it's not going to happen. We absolutely stink on defense.

Our offense is gelling, but we're going on the road again. The odds are just not good.

Here's hoping.
 
It'll be a shootout. Josh won't be able to bail us out by throwing it up to Thomas though... Greg Reid is a ball hawk and will pick those off.

Just ignore him. Now he's figured out the only way to draw attention to himself and he'll keep doing it until it doesn't work, then he'll move on to something else.

If you've got nothing to contribute to the conversation, say something you think is shocking. Someone has to notice you. :rolleyes:
 
I don't know at this point. Usually losses can focus a team, but a certain point a team becomes apathetic. They go through the motions, but morale is so down that their mind isn't there in practices or games. I wouldn't be surprised to see FSU do a tailspin starting with a loss to us.

That said, I'm still worried as all hell. Ponder will have time to read the paper, take a crap, and check all his receivers with how we pressure QB's. Nor can Burnett make ALL the tackles. Our offense is coming together like we thought before the season though, so I could definitely see a 1999-esque offensive shootout.

This is why I wasn't too worried about our defense going into tonight. Regardless of how bad UNC was, we didn't let them look better than they were.
 
I'm sorry gtcu. I feel good about the win. The defense needs to improve, but we got the win and im fucing kappy.
