Could we have challenged that play? If so, why didn't we? If not, why not?

I thought every play was supposed to be reviewed. It seems like the officials up in the booth should've stopped play to review that. If I was the guy the stripped the ball and fell on it (who was it?) I would've _begged_ Johnson to call a timeout.

I do not understand why that was not reviewed from above without our asking for the review and risking a timeout. That was a missed call against us, so reminiscent of the Charlie Ward comeback game and refs giving FSU two balls on onside kicks at the bottom of scrums. I can understand refs missing the ball exchange when Earls got it away from the return man. But, how can you look at the bottom of the pile and Earls holding the football and the FSU with his hands up under Earl and give that ball to FSU.

The Cherry crew is the ACC's worst. I fear they will do all they can for Saint Bobby and his boys tonight.

Earls couldn't catch a pass either. Good Lord. Kid is allergic to the damn football.

Still. Terrible call. We were screaming at CPJ to throw the damn flag. Earls was sitting on his arse with the ball in his lap with 2 hands on it. He was down. Clearly reviewable.

Ultimately pissed right now!

A fumble itself is reviewable, but I don't think the recovery is (as in WHO recovered it). It'd be hard to ever get that right on a replay.

Not with this one. He had the ball in his hands standing up and then he fell to the ground, and then an FSU player jumped on top of him and put his hands on the ball. That's not equal possession.

ESPN is pissing me off. They're addressing the bull**** call as though "Florida State miraculously recovers the ball somehow.."

And this piece of ****ing **** announcer talks like he's got a mouth full of goddamned marshmallows and can't ****ing stop smacking his goddamn ****ing lips when he opens that ****ing hole in his face to speak. I hope that mother****er gets hit by ****ing lightning.

I can't find any language that addresses specifically determining who recovered a fumble in the NCAA rulebook.

c. Live ball not ruled dead in possession of a ball carrier.
d. Live ball ruled dead in possession of a ball carrier when the clear recovery of a loose ball occurs in the immediate continuing action after the loose ball.
1. If the ball is ruled dead and the replay official does not have indisputable video evidence as to which team recovers, the dead-ball ruling stands.
2. If the replay official rules that the ball was not dead, it belongs to the recovering team at the spot of the recovery and any advance is nullified.

Anything not listed is unreviewable...

Anyone else want to have a look? (rule 12):
