I have always thought Tommy Bowden was overrated and am glad folks are beginning to realize the guy has won with gimmicks, etc and not sound football. Lots of smoke and mirrors up at Death Valley the past 4 years.
I was annoyed when everyone was pointing to the Clemson game as our "key" game, because I just didn't think that Tiger team was all that good. It's a nice indicator of our team's ability, but not a "statement" game. Also liked the way the AJC played up the UGa-CU game as if it was the "BIG" game, but when we play them it's just another ACC game. Sheeshhhh. Of course, as it has turned out we may have our own problems, but that's another story.
Since 1991, Clemson has been ranked only twice in the final polls. TWICE. I think they have lost 5 or more games in 6 of the past 10 seasons. The Clemson program has really slipped since the Danny Ford era, and they have been living off their name for a long time. And I don't think Bowden can get it done up there either.
I was more upset by last year's loss to Clemson than any other loss. The Uga loss stunk, but we were a better team than that Clemson team last year and should have never lost that game.
Terry and Tommy have been living off of daddy for quite awhile. Perhaps people are waking up now.
As far as our close loss up their meaning little, our 4 wins are over teams that are a combined 8-21 I believe (if BYU goes on to lose to CSU tonight): Vandy 1-6, UConn 2-5, BYU 3-5 and UNC 2-5.
On a side note, ya gotta give Amato alot of credit at NCSU.
