A West Branch man allegedly ate grass and dirt before he was arrested Thursday for allegedly operating a boat while intoxicated on the Coralville Reservoir.
...
A DNR complaint stated that McTaggart was ordered by the officer "not to put anything in his mouth," but proceeded to consume ice cubes after. The officer repeatedly told McTaggart to stop eating the ice and, eventually, grass and dirt after the boat was towed to the shore.

"I asked [McTaggart] to spit out the grass and dirt," the report reads. "He later took more grass and put it into his mouth again."

Why not just polish off the bottle of bourbon right there in front of the cop? It's not illegal, and it would invalidate toxicology. Right??

That’s actually pretty astute. Are you George Stein the DUI lawyer?
