First off it was great to be at HGF@BDS this past Saturday. Enjoyed the trip up with son-in-law and spending time with Mover and his family.

The one thing I saw which stood out in my mind was their is a different mind set with GT football and that mindset is for the BETTER!!

After the first hour I was completely bummed out by what I saw from our offense, but I, along with help from my son-in-law, was reminded we are in a new offense and it just takes time to get the wrinkles worked out. If CPJ and his staff can get the wrinkles removed, then I think we could have a good year. I was hoping for more from Nesbitt but I still think he will be ok in the fall.

I did see some push from the OL at times, but it seems they spent a great deal of time with their heels locked in the dirt. I do believe this group will be fine with Coach Sewak at the helm. He is an ass-buster which is what we have been needing.

The backs and receivers showed some good signs. There is enough talent there along with what is coming in to make some noise in this offense. If we can get 7-15 plays of 15 or more yards per game from these guys, we have a great chance of being a good offense.

Defensively it seems there was little drop off from last year to this year. I like the schemes we are using and how the players are running to the ball on every snap. DL is going to be a BIOTCH!!! LB's will be inexperienced, but if they play at 100 mph they will be fine. Our secondary can not get any worse than it has been previously. MB is an absolute stud who will be making plays all over the field in the fall. The rest of the secondary just needs to keep everyone in front of them and they will be fine IMO.

Hard to tell about special teams. A scrimmage is much different than lining up in front of 50,000. We have the potential to be good there, but we will not know until August 29.

Overall, a good day IMO for the GT faithful. The AJC is full of crap if they think there was only 8500 there. I would say we had every bit of 12,000.

Going to be an interesting summer with plenty of work to be done and getting the freshmen who will play ready for saturday's on The Flats.

Have a great day!!

The worst thing you can do is hesitate. And with the OL having completely new assignments this year, they are doing too much thinking. The next step in OL development is (probably) going to be Sewak yelling "If you don't know which F*** man is yours, block the one in front of you!".

As far as the DB's go, I think we will see an improvement this year. Under the old system, the worst thing you could do was miss a tackle. So the DB's gave the receivers miles of real-estate to run whatever route they wanted. The DL was supposed to put the pressure on the QB to throw early. I think this year, the DB's are going to try disrupt routes, forcing the QB to hold onto the ball longer. That will give the DL more time to get to the QB. It will also mean we will give up the big play every now and then. Hopefully, we will have an offense that can answer when it happens.

Totally agree sir!!!

Just hit some dang body!!

Tenuta always said: "If you think...YOU STINK"

I guess that' could be part of the reason why the OLINE stunk.

Our line is going to get this offense down, but right now, they just thinking too much. With our DL, a little hesitation means MJ is in the back field running down your QB.

I didn't make the spring game, but from the pictures I've seen the OL has bought into running up field on the snap. That is a good first step.

If Sewak is busting chops up there then that is a huge turn around for him! One of GSU Fan's biggest complaints about him was he was too much of a friend / nice guy to the players. In the stands you could hear players shout "Hey Mike" or "Hey Sewak come here".

Not something that sounds like respect is being demanded and not something we wanted out of a leader. With that said, I was a huge Sewak fan and thought he should have never been let go, although i'm glad we now have Hatcher.
