GA TECH CONTROLS UGA\'S SEC DESTINY

For the first time in years, the UGA-GT game matters for something more than pride. Given the current rules for determining the SEC East champion, a UGA loss to GT would push UGA more than five BCS spots back from Tennessee. The result would be UT would go to the SEC Championship Game. If UGA beats KY, then Ga. Tech would be in position to keep the Dogs out of the Championship game with a victory.

Absolutely, To Hell With Georgia!

Not that I care, but can anyone explain how Tenn. gets in? I understand how ugag and UF can get in.

I think if we win the game, we should go to the SEC championship at 3-0 in SEC play.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">If we step up and beat Virginia it could be a hell of a game. You guys finished putting the fork in Auburn's season. I saw the second half of it after leaving the Tech game and I was impressed. But not scared because I do think our defense matches up well with your offense. I don't expect to score much and in a low scoring game anything can happen. Billy Bennett is not as automatic as in seasons past so I think Dan Burnett could have a major impact. Again we have to step up against Virginia first. Then it could be a real slobbernocker!

JJacket, I'm with you. We would have the best record in the SEC if we beat UGA.

I was hoping that Auburn was going to finish the Dawgs SEC hopes this weekend... but the Tigers looked ABSOLUTELY awful. Guess if we want something done right, we'll just have to do it ourselves on Nov 29.

To Hell With Georgia!

JJacket, I'm with you. We would have the best record in the SEC if we beat UGA.

That would make GT 3-0 versus teams with the following SEC records:

UGA 6-2 (Great win for the jackets)
Vandy 1-7 (Real impressive win *sarcasm alert*)
Auburn 5-3 (not nearly as impressive as you originally thought)

By the way, I am assuming UT beats Vandy, UGA beats UK, and Auburn beats Alabama, which is definitely not a given.

The point I am making is that GT has not played the better teams in the SEC this year. Now it's not GT's fault. GT stepped up to the plate in scheduling Auburn. How were they to know AU wouldn't be a very good team?

Re: GA TECH CONTROLS UGA\'S SEC DESTINY

BTW, only one team controls UGA's destiny right now and that team is UGA

UT does have an influence.

What ever happened to Eddie Robinson? Is he still coaching at Grambling State? Seems like I recall that he had been coaching there for &gt;50 years and had sent quite a few players to the NFL during his career.

I'll second your THWG.
