Ga Tech..... Unpredictable?

What the hell are you talking about? Didn't you hear about the Chan Gailey Equilibrium?

I want to know the team over a 10 year period that IS predictable.

In general terms, Clempsun has been very predictable. Going back to the days of Tommy West in '96 or so, you can count on them starting hot (5-0, 6-0, 7-1, etc), then flaming out in late October and November. It's been like clockwork for the last 10-12 years.

In that sense, so have we. You could say that we would win 7-8 games per season (you just don't know which ones).

Or you could say that Clemson has been very unpredictable because their preseason expectations are always high (ACC Championship-high most years) yet they fail to meet expectations every year.

Ridiculous, communist argument. There is no such thing as legitimate prediction. That is all hearsay.

It does not exist, peeple.

We've either been unpredictably consistent or predictably inconsistent in the Gailey era. Or maybe a little bit of both.

My brain hurts now....NEED FOOTBALL QUICKLY. Hopefully NCAA Football 09 will stop the bleeding.

Funny, I would have said they stepped on their dick until mid-October and then played their ass off to save the coach's job.

Okay...I had to go look. We're kinda both right. Over those 12 seasons, they've had seven where they play .500 or below to start (first 4-6 games), eight seasons of either zero or one loss in the middle (mid 3-5 games), and eight seasons where they've limped home one or no wins in the last three.

But the aberations, were much like you described...
'00 8-0 start, 1-3 finish
'01 5-2 start, 2-3 finish
'06 7-1 start, 1-4 finish
'07 8-2 start, 1-2 finish (started 4-2, then 4-0, similar to above description)
