Ga tech vs fl state tenth best game of season

Well, most on here think that game meant nothing and we won by luck. I disagree. Definitely, one of best games I've ever seen or been to.

I disagree with the opinion that it was won by luck. It was won by the skill of being in the right place at the right time.

considering almost every loss was by 1 score or less, i think a bit of both is an acceptable answer

Defense played great that night. Two Thomas INT's accounted directly for FSU scores, including their only TD which was a 2-yard drive. Losing Gotsis on the 1st play at UVA the next week was killer. Might've made a bowl otherwise.

If we had lost two weeks in a row on a 56 yard FG, I would have jumped from the north endzone. Jesus won that game and spared me.

I agree it was some of both (skill and luck). It was skill that allowed Pat Gamble to fight through the line and time his jump to block the FG attempt. It was skill (and quick thinking) that allowed Austin to pick it up and take it to the house. It was skill that allowed his teammates to block for him.

But....we were facing the best FG kicker in the country. He had NEVER missed a 4th Qtr FG. Most accurate FG kicker in college history, IIRC. We were at least a little fortunate that he did not get it up over Gamble. Also we were fortunate that the ball landed in a place where Austin had access to it (i.e, did not go on into our end zone, did not go out of bounds, etc.

It was wonderful and beautiful at the time. But in the big scheme of things (as the season turned out) it meant very little - the difference between 3-9 and 2-10.

It might have meant very little to our record. But to me it is and will remain one of my most fondest memories as a tech fan as I this was my first year with season tickets. It was a great experience. That and being at the 2014 uga game.

Tbh, i see a huge difference in 3-9 and 2-10 albeit one game. Double digit losses would be brutal if 9 wasnt already.

The ending was great but I don't see how you can consider this to be a great game. It was bad football with an exciting ending.

It didn't measure up to the 1962 Alabama game...but then, you probably weren't there.
