No open competition in the spring, Suggs will be the no. 1 QB. Bilbo still not cutting it.

Most shocking and disappointing comment from a GT headcoach in my half century of life. He could not have possibly meant it as quoted. Maybe he will explain it. THWG

If this true then Debo should go ahead and transfer. If cg really meant that -that there would be no competition then I will loose any respect for him. The idea that competition is closed for the fall is maddening. aj will not get any better than we have already seen, b ecause of his lack of abilities and to close it now means to that cg doesn't have the ability to coach! If this statement is misinterpeted or taken out of context then it should be immediately corrected by the writer or Tech asap. People on the hive are ready to explode and I am too.

Here is what it SHOULD take (worse case scenario) for a starting QB to be replaced OR at a minimum, open up competetion..AGAIN - worse case scenario (assuming a starting QB is still in after multiple sub-par performances).

Perhaps a pasting, say, 51-7 or something along those lines, where the team has NO offensive consistency whatsoever...And a bunch of turnovers...A poor QB rating AND (icing on the cake)a stud back up waiting to play...

OH....I forgot...The above has allready happened...

Well, for you folks who are hoping for major revisions in strength and conditioning to take place in the off-season.......It seems clear that NO changes need to take place in the off-season for this team....Just need to stay the old course huh ?

I was honestly thinking during the UGA game, that MAYBE the pasting was a good thing..Clearly it would lead to some serious "thinking" by our HC on changes that need to take place.....Guess I was wrong....

This would be easier to take if DBo had gotten ANY playing time. If drills and practices meant everything in football, then half the NFL would probably be in the unemployment line. Let the kid PLAY, for the love of God, THEN bench him for the rest of his career if he tanks.

Gailey is probably scared to death that if he actually gives Bilbo some game snaps and the team performs well, then his ENTIRE SEASON will be second guessed. Better to just bench the guy and not open yourself up to criticism. Really chickens**t if you ask me.

Lets see if there is poor reporting by Mr. Hollis before we jump to conclusions. He made a bad mistake on BOB's job interview and this might also prove to be in error by misquoting or taken out of context. Having said that if this true then cg has lost any respect I had in him as a coach and person! If this is not true then someone better correct it asap. There will be a lot of upset people if this goes on uncorrected or is true. If not corrected then I take it to be true. Come on somebody with the ajc or Tech say something on the subject now!

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">What a crock of *&^*&%.

Gailey's been a coach for a LONG time. If you truly
think he'd let fan perception alter his decisions then
you would have expected him to bench AJ early in the
season when it was obvious he was struggling.

I think this is Gailey showing AJ some support going
into the upcoming game. He (and we) should be more
worried about winning our bowl game than next spring
right now.

If this comes to pass in the Spring, we can storm the
Edge Center and demand answers. Until then, lets not
get so bent out of shape over something we see in the
AJC.

WHat has AJ done to DESERVE any support ?

Frankly, I think he is TOO comfortable with his status as starter...

The best he has looked was after coming back in following a series from Bilbo

Whether Hollis has quoted Gailey accurate or not, this article sums up what I have been thinking are the realities of where we are at with our current Head Coach.

He has no vision or imagination. It is obvious to most observers that our current QB does not have it, and will not lead us anywhere, except to continued mediocrity. Gailey is the deer in the headlights. He was the same way at Dallas and at Miami. He makes up his mind that things must be a certain way and he has no flexibility (vision) for adjustment. This was his downfall at Dallas and led to one of the more inept Offenses in Dolphin history. Our display in the Duke and Georgia games was the worst I have seen from Georgia Tech.

I know many of you criticize BeeWare for his continued criticism of the hire of Gailey. I for one agree with him. This will be a long painful downward spiral until the bottom falls out.

Even with multiple missing starters, we will be hard pressed to beat Fresno with our current Coach and QB.

As a life long Tech fan, I hate it for the program, the tradition and the fans. Wish I could be more optimistic, but you don't have to hit me over the head with a hammer but a few times for me to realize this ain't gonna work. Too bad Gailey doesn't have the same ability to recognize the obvious. Wish I could fix it.

Go Jackets!

This bodes of CG's conservatism. Unfortunately, that will not win football games at Georgia Tech.
I hope AJ has a Heisman year in '03 but I can't see it for the life of me.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">We have been hit with that hammer ever since the opening series of the Clemson game. Is that something everyone can agree with. What I am trying to say is that Coach Gailey appears to make it hard for even his biggest supporters to justify him as our head coach. For the fans that would just loved to see him leave he keeps giving us reasons to hope that time will be soon enough.
