You don't need a Ph.D. to recognize good chemistry, at least when it comes to Georgia Tech football.
Players say that's part of the reason the Yellow Jackets are two victories from the ACC championship game instead of stuck near the middle of the standings, the way they've been in recent seasons.
"We click a lot better than last year," sophomore receiver James Johnson said. "We had a little bit of Gailey's kids and O'Leary's kids. Now, it's all Gailey's kids."
Gailey succeeded George O'Leary as coach before the 2002 season. This is the first Tech team where all of the players signed to play for Gailey.

usually you might downplay this comment but given the bifurcation in the fanbase it is not difficult to believe that this has been a problem in years past.

It also provides an explanation for SOME of the blowout losses.

Well, to be fair, it doesn't explain the Clemson loss this year. Hehe.

The thing about Gailey/Chan is that they are different styles of coaches, who attract different types of players. OLeary was an insane disciplinarian, and attracted kids who wanted that discipline. Many of the OLeary kids didn't perform well as student athletes under Chan because Chan didn't provide the strict discipline they came for. Hence flunkgate.

Hey 67, what is this: "Clemson loss this year. Hehe?" Is that loss funny to you? Why would any fan say something like this?

Look up BIFURCATION for me, I don't have my specs on.

Bifurcation: The act of paying your employer for an extra week of vacation.

Often used to describe divided fan bases, where half of them have let their brains go on permanent sabbatical.

Methinks you read too much into a simple "hehe."

I'm not happy we lost a game. I'm also not about to let a loss ruin my mood. (unless its a loss to UGA) Losses happen.
