Gailey's stock is up..

How ironic. Bammer would make the same mistake as they did with BC.

I also don't think they could buy out his contract.

And we would just make Tenuta the HC.

GFI Bammer!!!

Tenuta is not a head coach.

It's pretty easy for your stock to be 'up' when someone labeled you the worst coach in college FB last year.

Hehe.

I think we'll have Gailey until he retires, which is one of the reasons he was a good hire after O'Leary burned us.

yeah, I dont see this. Chan just doesnt seem like a Bama man, but I guess you never know.

Chan is no "Suitcase Bill" Curry. The way he has been treated, he may leave. He has strong ties to Alabama. And Tenuta is not head coaching material. Do you see anyone else after him?

Chan is at Tech for the long haul.

Furthermore, anyone who leaves a program FOR Alabama because of how they've been treated by fans is clearly insane.

Bowden left WV for FSU because of the way fans treated him. Curry left Bammer because of the same.

However, if Chan left GT for Bammer he would be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Remember what they did to Perk ("Jerk Perk") and Curry and the others.

Also I'm not sure the Bammer job is much to crow about compared to twenty years ago. The recruiting bases have changed significantly and frankly the GT job looks more appealing going forward as a place a coach can win and win big, in my GT biased opinion...

CCG has worked five years building the GT program up. He has what is believed to be a great class coming in next year. Doubt he's goin' anywhere.

I was a big Bama fan before I enrolled at Tech, and I think the odds of this are slim to none.

For the most part, Bama fans are distrusting of former NFL coaches, unless of course they're a part of the "Tide family."

Just something I noticed.

Bammmer fans are into the mind set that , if he's not one of us, he will never be accepted. Sad but true.
They could always send their alumni after Petrino!

Someone beat me to Curry's move to KY, BJ67. Suitcase left a job in 1 of the most storied programs in America for the football wasteland of KY. I hope you are right, and I'm not going to call you an ignorant slut because you may disagree with me. I think coaches move all the time because of how they are percieved by the fan base (see BO for how some Tech alumni feel about our boy Chan). Again, I hope you are right.

Not totally true, but you're generally right. They hired both Mike Price and Dennis Francione, neither of whom were in the family. Now, I know they didn't spend long there, but the point is that they were hired.

But, I think the trend is toward what you have pointed out. I think they will definitely go for someone "in the family" if they decide to drop Shula (which they shouldn't do, IMHO).
