http://canespace.typepad.com/canespace/2009/09/preview-georgia-tech-at-miami.html

A couple of excerpts I found amusing:

"Thursday Night Game: The U always, and I mean ALWAYS shows up for these games. Don't expect us to come out flat." - Did they watch the same game I watched last year?

"...Getting an early lead will be critical for Miami to force GT out of their running game and to have to pass the ball..." - They were behind UGA last year and GT only threw the ball once the entire game.

GT defensive backs were nothing special last year

We may not have statistically had the best pass yardage coverage, but I'll take giving up some yards to having multiple interception opportunities! Pressure on Jacory is still going to be the biggest factor in this game. We get pressure, we're looking good, if not, then it might be bad.

The Canes defense will be looking for turnovers or stops to slow down Tech's potent running game

I'm no expert, but isn't the only way to stop another team's offense to either get a turnover or a stop?:laugher:

That seems to be what a lot of idiots say about stopping us. In the Dinich chat today some retard in California (assuming he's a Miami fan) says Miami will try to score "early and often" to force Georgia Tech to throw which is our "weekness" (o yeah you read that right).

First, name one team, ONE, that will try NOT to score early and often on anyone.

Second:
FOR GOD'S SAKE GET IT RIGHT WE DO NOT RUN THE BALL CONVENTIONALLY!!!!!!!!

I don't know. A friend of mine has some inside info on the Canes, and he said that their strategy on Thursday was gonna be something CPJ has never seen: They're going to not score often, let us run the ball up and down the field, not cover the dive or the pitch man or the qb, and every defender will play undisciplined defense with no regard for assignments. They will let us get ahead early and they will not come out with any energy. This strategy is based on the famous flaw of the original Tecmo Bowl, wherein if you scored more than a hundred points, your score reset to zero. (It is believed that Tecmo manufactured the Miami scoreboard.) Thus, they plan to score one touchdown and let us score fifteen touchdowns, so that they can and beat us 7-5. Their biggest concern is that Blair misses six or more extra points.

Very nicely done! :laugher:

Love it.

Your best post yet. Shouldn't it be 127 points though?

Has anyone seen Miami's O-Line measurables? They're huge!

That list is incomplete. It doesn't list their "swagga".

Big ole pussy cats...

Wow... that is cocky as hell... They are acting like the GT game is just another game before VT and after they blew out FSU... They barely won, and they haven't beaten us in 5 years... What is this... I am taking this game seriously and I am sure the team is. I'm flying down thursday morning. Sitting in 410, anyone else going?

Hope we shut these guys up!

You don't understand - their fans really do believe that they have instantly returned to their former glory, and as such we are below them.

Miami only managed 90 yards on the ground against F$U. Harris only rushed for (3) yards but was only sacked once for 8 yards so he really only had 5 yards rushing.

Where Harris killed F$U was with long passes. Hopefully, our 2ndary can slow him down a bit.

It was long passes that nearly beat us last Thursday. We'll have to do better or pray for rain, but I still think Miami's performance against FSU may have been a fluke. Either way, our guys won't be taking them lightly after the scare we had against Clemson, so maybe that works for us. This could be a very high scoring game.

How does that compare to Clemson?

Good point. Looks like they're actually lighter, but not by much. Clemson averaged 314. Miami averages 310.

Does anyone have a link to that youtube video of the Miami fan previewing the game last year claiming victory and then leaving with 10 minutes on the clock?

Also, we are doing a guest blog session with those guys... we've had better. Look for it to be up tomorrow.
