George Godsey as QB Coach?

He has coached under O'leary at UCF for three years now. He's made the absolute BEST of the talent that has been given to him down there. Moffet their old QB had around a 60% Completion Percentage, nearly 3,000 yards, 22 TDs and just 9 picks. Those are some pretty good stats coming from Central Florida. These guys have played a HARD out of conference schedule too. Last year they played national champion Florida on the road.

This would be ideal, IMO.

Would love to have his football smarts back on the Flats. Godsey could be a future offensive mastermind, as he played under Ralph and has a bachelors and masters degree from Tech in IE.

Hopefully the staff will go after George. I'm hoping.

That's all well and good but who's place would he take?

Patrick Nix, our former QB Coach/OC left for Miami last week.

Godsey would replace his QB coach duties, and either Geis will be promoted, or we will bring in a proven OC.

Promoting from within for the oc would be the only option. The NCAA only allows 9 assistant coaches.

Wow, didn't know that.

Thanks*

Not to mention the little financial issue at Tech right now. An added salary is probably the last thing DRad wants.

considering this, and say we do bring in a guy to coach our QBs, would Geis be a good choice for OC? Don't really know much about him.

Gailey = Nix = Geis in terms of production.

I want a new face that has a proven resume in the college ranks.

LARRY COKER

JOHN L SMITH

Get one of those guys.

Guys....as bad as we played offensively against UGA and Wake.....we cannot say the offense did not improve this year. As hard as it is to believe, our offense outperformed our defense comparitively speaking in conference this year...although not by much. The problem is not that CG does not know offense...it is just that a HC does not have time to focus on it these days...partly because they have to spend time satisfying our high maintenance rears!

That being said....CG does want and needs to find an OC. Could it be Geis? Possibly. Is that exciting? No...because fans love to talk about the new coach/new recruit and we forget who we already have. I am not necessarrily a Geis fan...but he has been asked to interview for NFL OC jobs the past couple of years.

Lets just wait until the week of Monday, Feb. 11 and see what happens....nothing will happen through signing day....or at least it would not be announced.

qft.

And I don't think we can hang the UGA loss on playcalling. Reggie took a sack on 3rd and goal with 3 guys wide open in the EZ.

That said, I bet dollars to donuts if we hire Larry Coker for ~300k as an OC we'll put some butts in seats, even for a few extra dollars per ticket.
