Hey guys,
Thanks for all the good information on O'Leary. I'd like to answer a few of the questions that were directed towards me.
Indian Buzz - I do remember seeing you on our board from time to time. You guys are all welcome to drop by anytime, if interested. You may even get to see some of our "hire O'Leary now" posts.......... link - Baylor message board
Chan Gailey - As a Dallas resident, I got to be pretty familiar with him during his days with the Cowboys. I'm not sure if he's destined to be a head coach in the NFL or not, but most people here DID consider him to be pretty solid, at least as far as the X's and O's went. His major downfall was his control freak boss, Jerry Jones, and the fact that he was not allowed to use his own cast of characters to implement his own system. Speaking of which, how has the reception been so far in Atlanta for Gailey?
Brick Haley - He should do well for you at Tech as a position coach. Brick is a heck of a good guy who is NOT ready to be a coordinator at this stage. Maybe after several more years of seasoning, he'll be qualified to move up. Anyway, my understanding is that he is a very vocal, enthusiastic type of individual. His problem at Baylor was that he was hamstrung from the start. We asked him to do a lot with a little, which is probably not fair for any new DC. The fact that Kevin Steele does not have any previous HC or DC experience probably didn't help the matter any with Haley in that regard.
Chris Bosh - This is a Dallas stud you just signed to play for your hoops team. If any of you are basketball fans, you'll love watching him in action. He kicked everybody's @$$ when he played for Lincoln HS here, and I'm sure that he'll eventually do the same in college.
By the way, I know that GT does recruit Texas, so if any of you ever want to send a prospect question my way, feel free. I do come around this board every now and then, I just don't normally post very often.
