Georgia Tech's Ramblin' Wreck wrecked

The Ramblin' Wreck does not need to be hauled around on a flat-bed truck. I think the purchase of an enclosed trailer is in order.[/quote]

Maybe something like this

Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout Willis!

It is pulled in a closed trailer. The trailer rolled with the wreck inside. The trailer isn't quite as big as the one pictured though...

That may be the case most of the time, but this particular article says otherwise:

Tech senior John Bird and his brother, Matt, were hauling the Wreck on a flatbed truck on Friday when there was "a grinding noise" and "we hit the ditch and the Wreck fell on its side," Bird said.

Based on the pictures I've recently seen, the Wreck was being towed in a trailer by an Expedition. As for the reports that it was on a flatbed truck; let me say I'm stunned, stunned I say, that the media could be something other than 100% correct. What is this country coming too if we can't have total and complete faith in our news media!:pat:

I was told about this by some friends before it hit the media. What I heard was that the trailer roller with the Wreck inside. Not that the people who told mw know it all, but they have some good insight so take it for what its worth.

Also, from what I hear repairs will be just fine, and cost shouldnt be a problem. Will be even more special to see the old girl when she leads the team out for Samford because of this.

Just please do not disseminate pics of the wrecked wreck, if there are any. Some dawgs are already scouring the earth for them.

The pics are already out there.

Yeah, unfortunately a news station out of Macon got hold of pics apparently from a police report. The news reporter on the website video sounds all too happy that the Wreck is damaged. Jackass.

Well I'm now convinced that the ajc got it wrong and in fact --the Wreck was being hauled in a trailer (as it should be) and not a flatbed truck. Couldn't believe it when I read it --and considering the source I should have known better!

Found the pics and at least I'm glad to say it doesn't look as bad as I imagined. It would be real easy to fix if it wasn't a Ford Model A.

It was helped some by the fact that it was carried by an enclosed trailer by an expedition.

I don't know if being towed by an Expedition helped any. Remember a few years ago Expedition's were slinging trailers all over the place (Ford blamed the problem on Firestone). My brother-in-law slung a camper on I-75 while heading off on vacation. He had the Expedition fixed, sold it, and hasn't towed anything with one since. Maybe we need a rule against towing the Wreck with an Expedition.
