we are still not using correctly.

He looked pretty good running the read option with Sims. Having to worry about someone else in the run game besides just Gibbs might be the answer. So a two-back set with Yates maybe

I thought Hasselbeck had a great observation that with our wide splits, there were 5 defenders for 5 blockers, and "you should be able to run on this". We need the OL to stop having 1.5 men whiff assignments each play before we'll get back to production between the tackles.

That said, Gibbs and Dontae blocking to spring each other on the wings gave me the James May fizzy sensation. I could watch those guys wait for the block and then kick on the jets all day.

Either the OL can’t open holes, or Gibbs can’t find them. I’m leaning toward the former, but honestly I haven’t watched closely enough to tell the difference. What I do know is that he has added power to go with his incredible agility and elite RB route-running, so we need to find a way to get him even more involved.

He is…. But so are Mason and Smith. Loved some of the plays run out of the 2 back sets.

Gibbs would be better in the read option if Sims was as good at reading defenders as our former 3O QBs were. He misses the correct read more often than he should.

Gibbs is going to have a monster game on Saturday, hundred plus yards of both rushing and receiving.

When Sims went down our key game day threat was Gibbs. He got shadowed a lot. Much like we recently shadowed Howell with a LB.
Saturday we punch in Sims and UNC is totally unprepared for the change in tempo, speed and moves. Our run game immediately has a 2 dimensional threat again-and then Sims starts to throw darts to add 3D to it...Luv it. Mack Brown said- "we could not stop him".
A 2 back set with our current stellar GT RB talent is good for our program and our student athletes... more touches for more athletes =NIL+ recruiting advantage.
On the Game Day play side -2 back set adds more dimension and confusion about our point of attack.
Does a winning RPO need a tight end?
