What is the reason GT did not/does not go after GOL for the money he owes? Doesn't he owe $1M for breach of contract and whose decision was it to NOT go after this (Braine??) Is DRad aware of all this? I would think if he have a significant financial debt that this would be a simple garnish the wages procedure.

We did go after this money and reached a private agreement for paying it off per D-Rad, but he is not allowed to discuss it publically.

This is correct. I wish people would stop the allegations (slander)to the contrary.

I never heard anything about it being settled - that's why I asked. Thanks for clarifying that. Apparently, it's not well known to the public.

Use of the term "settlement" indicates that GOL probably did not meet his original agreement and that Tech didn't feel the need to pursue him legally. Given some of Braine's other brain-dead decisions we may have been in a disadvantaged legal position and took what we could get.

I heard George is paying in $100/yr installments.

Where george screwed us on that deal was by "resigning" at ND. If he had made them fire him, then we would have gotten our buy out money quick, because that was part of his deal with them.

if he can get UCF to build him an indoor practice facility, then i think they would have ponied up the up-front cash and taken it out of his pay over time -- if we had pursued it hard enough.

That's not how I understood it at all, but maybe I've got my facts mixed up.

The way I understood it, George owed us a million dollar buyout to leave, ND promised to give him a million dollars to cover the buyout as part of his contract with them, then ND reneged, using his resume as an excuse, and left George holding the bill. At that point, Tech could have demanded our million or whatever, but George didn't really have it, and was out of work, so we cut a private deal.

The deal wasn't completed until early this year. He was employed.

That's correct to a point, but ND didn't renege. When George resigned, he essentially was in breach of contract, so they didn't owe him the compensation set forth in the contract. ND contracted to pay the pay-off with George, not GT. That's why I said if they had fired George, we would have gotten our money much quicker. I just wish we had our million like we were supposed to get 7 years ago...we sure needed it :D

Yeah but had we gotten the money then with Dave Braine in charge, we would have probably squandered it away.

Yeah, like on a championship winning womens tennis team, a national calibre volleyball team, the improvement of womens hoops and a significant betterment of the swimming teams

total waste of money

I'm not saying good things didn't happen while he was here. However, if you look at the GTAA financial statments, we were burning though money like there was no tomorrow.
