This may be old news, but it's interesting, official, and I, for one, couldn't agree more.

Hopefully this puts this old argument to bed.

It puts it to rest for me.

I have been vehemently "anti-blue" because it was not an official color. Several times I suggested that the "pro-blue" should try to get the colors changed if they felt that strongly. Evidently it has happened. Our official colors are white, old gold, and navy blue. I'm satisfied.

Now...what shade of navy and gold are we (as a group) going to argue about next?

They can declare it as a color all they want, i'm still in white and gold.

This is like UGA adopting silver or white as an official color....just one more excuse for the bookstore to sell more blue than gold.

Great News.....I don't think we will wear Navy Blue Jerseys anytime soon though..... John Southard, GT 33

Our colors are WHITE and Old Gold.
Navy is fine for a trim color or for use in some of the minor sports.
Navy should NEVER be used as a major color for major sports.

Like the best college song in history says "It's up with the WHITE and Gold....."

Navy is an official color now, and it should be. We need a high contast color.
As for the shade, I hope we adopt the US Navy's official blue.

Can't believe I completely agree with Beeware on something.

Agree with Beeware. Our colors are Old Gold and White. Case closed.

Should we ever don throwback uniforms, I suggest we pull out our original Yellow Jacket, as my handle implies. Don't kill Buzz mind you, but it's great to see the original symbols displayed, such the first Yellow Jacket as well as the "T" with Georgia and Tech written inside it - retro 50's and 60's.

The best thing Gailey can do next year is to rid us of those numbers in the crazy ass script.

To Hell With Georgia.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Sorry Folks, but people denying Blue as an official color have been burying their heads in the sand and putting fingers in their ears. Like it or not it has ALWAYS been an official color as the article refernces. Why someone wouldn't like it is beyond me. I think it looks great as a contrast to gold and beautifully accents gold and white. Besides, look all over Tech and you will quickly realize it's already all over the place both on campus and on GT stuff.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">The case is closed allright. The OFFICIAL colors are Gold, White and Navy Blue. This is as it should be, as the original classes of 1891 and 1892 selected. You don't get anymore original and official than that. It's been a long time coming and it's the right thing to do and it just makes good sense. I'm not suggesting we put blue all over the uniforms. I'm just saying that it has it's place in the uniform and it's infinately better than those sick looking gold jersy's.

I think our unis will remain mostly white/gold, but at least we will have a consistent trim color. If we ever go to a blue home shirt I hope we wear white pants like 1990. That would have all 3 colors and it is brighter than gold/blue/gold. We need a more traditional style number though. Looking forward to some consistency and hopefully the gold on our helmet can be transfered to rest of unis.
