Good coaches like Richt

I'd cut him a little slack. The best I can remember this is the first time he has lost to a team with clearly inferior athletes. I wish we could say the same. It happened to Goff regularly, Donnan occassionally screwed up but he also couldn't get over the hump against the "Big 4" on their schedule. Dawg fans will be upset but the big picture with Richt argues against them. We can hope this is the start of a decline for them but with the odds at this point are "wait and see".

I can understand their offense problems this year, but their defense is horrid.
Now that their conference hopes are gone, I expect to see Stafford start every remaining game regardless of his "nervousness". He looks like he will be a great one eventually, somewhere.

I have no reason to think that uga does not have very good football players, but both lines stink and their db's can't cover anybody. Must be coaching. :D

I think their D misses Van Gorder.

If anybody on this board thinks Richt is a bad coach, they are dumber than I thought.

What the heck are you talking about? What do you call Vandy?

Aren't you referring to Vandy?

To be fair to Gailey, I don't think he's lost to a team with clearly inferior athletes since UNC 2004 except for Utah in the mud bowl last year.

always oull out the close ones. Where's that thread?

We all knew Rick Brooks would live up to the legendary billing in the Commonwealth. Who is UGA's coach again?

What if I told you some ex players over there thought he's not as good as advertised. They are getting restless with him. They realize they are going to lose games but not this way. It's driving them insane.

One ex in particular thinks things are going on behind close doors and CMR is distracted.

Richt's success this far was because of VanGorder. The Defesive Coordinator there now is not nearly as good. Also Richt had a stellar qb in Green.

Last year's qb got them through the season with several close wins (including GT).

The wheels are coming off this year. Looks like 6-6 for them.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch...

Well, FSU certainly took a nosedive when Richt left. Then again, Jeff Bowden could just be that bad.

I would love to hear what that is! How about a little hint?

John, I will never question anything you say. You know more about football than I ever will, but I think some people will get down on any coach that is having a bad year. If he has a bad year next year, I wll be very surprised. Dawgs go crazy when they are not winning.

Wonder how forgiving those dawg fans really can be now. UGA loses to Vandy, Kentucky & GT all in one season. Uhmmmmmm Uhmmmmmmm. I can't imagine what is wrong over there since they recruit so highly every year.

Looks like Chan coaches lesser recruits up and Richt coaches higher recuits down.

Hey, didn't his wife have a close call with cancer this year?
I would think that maybe he's gained a new perspective about what's really important in life.
If Georgia fans dont cut him some slack, nomatter what happens the rest of the way for them, and I'm hoping we pay them back in spades for that damn 51-7, then they don't deserve someone of his caliber, and he is much better off without them.

1. It is fun to watch the Dawgs turn on each other. :bash:

2. My mom went to the Vandy game with my mutt brother. My dad went to the UK game with him today. I think I am going to send one of them with him to Athens in 3 weeks for bad luck...

...I don't think so. I want to watch the Jackets roll live while he makes up excuses about why this year is "different.":laugher:

I'm not quite sure why there seems to be so much confusion with what I wrote. Jack-It, I was clearly referring to the Vandy game, which had just happened the day or day before I posted this.

Floridajacket: I inferred that we have lost to teams with clearly inferior athletes. You take excpetion with my post then give two examples, in the past TWO years. Add Duke in 03 and I think there are others in the till as well. I was not slamming Gailey, simply pointing out that it has happened to us a lot more than to Richt.

Even after yesterday the line on CMR is "wait and see". Too many great athletes over there to take the game for granted. But it is payback time and we need to administer a majot butt-kicking.
