Call a spade a spade. Most everyone doubted UGA could beat Alabama there, including me. My hat is off to Georgia for winning a tough game. We underperformed and lost to a much weaker team who had better coaching.

But why were they not expected to win? A team with all that talent, ranked that highly, should win and win big. It s/b a foregone conclusion. They haven't lost an away game in-conference since Richt came there.

I admit it - i am bitter! Our program is going the wrong way and theirs is going the right way. It started with the coaching hire, both places.

I agree bizzy. I've seen UGA play, and they're not that great. I've also seen Bama play, and they're just not as good as UGA. Have no idea how they were favored. Wanted to place a bet on that game. Would it have been an upset if Bama had won? Everyone acts like it wouldn't have been...but I think it would.

Re: Good grief! Isn\'t a #6 team SUPPOSED.....

Bizzy, I think most of the sports commentators thought UGA was over rated, and so did most of us. Alabama seemed to be a team on the upswing with a tough defensive line.

Now that UGA has beaten Alabama, it gives more credence to UGA's ranking.

I overlooked the fact UGA was ranked highly, because they are normally a favorite of the media, especially the AJC. However, it appears they may merit a fairly high ranking, although, personally, I am still not convinced they deserve to be ranked as high as their present ranking indicates.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">the reason they were not expected to win is the same reason we were underdogs in the citrus bowl to nebraska in '90. Sometimes perception is not reality.

I think they will have a difficult time against TN next week

I hate 'em but they'll win next week. 11-0? NO, but they'll beat UT

Two external things, I believe, contributed/helped them win: 1-Pat Dye got their dander up, and 2-being underdogs to a team about 1M rankings behind. I hate them and I hate it when things seem to fall their way so easily. It was so much more fun when their fans would throw things at them! LOL!!

I am a bitter, bitter person.

to beat a team in mid-20's? Jeez, one would think UGA just won national championship! Besides that, they barely won!! Talk about hype and pr. They are getting it in spades like it was a major, major upset. (i'm not bitter)

Well, let's see:

They won in Bryant-Denny for the first time.

We lost at home to Wake Forest.

Who has better reason to crow?

GO JACKETS!!

agreed. No Tech fan can take any thing away from what UGaG accomplished. They stepped up and got the job done playing in a freaking house of horrors. We cannot get the job done in the comfort of our home against a basketball school. You guys need to quit worrying about whats going on in Athens and take a look in OUR backyard. Someone stole our swingset and left a barrel of potential asskickings.
