I was not excited about the Collins hire. I am now. I know challenges lie ahead in transitioning the offense, getting the right personnel, coaching the players to maximize their potential, and dealing with The Hill and the academic challenges that come with Georgia Tech. But, all this guy has done since being hired is bust his tail in a relentless pursuit of building a great staff, recruiting great players, energizing the fan base and establishing positive rapport with the media. You are off to a great start Coach!

He certainly has the right outlook and refuses to believe he will be “handicapped” by any Tech limitations, real or imagined.

It isn't just the outlook, it is the great hires. We are just entering a new era.

I love what CPJ did for us, great wins and some awesome seasons. 2009 and 2014 will be something to live up to.

Played golf with Hummer once. And I thought I knew profanity. Hummer could make sailors blush.
His piece on Cartersville and Trevor Lawrence is a good read too. He might be one of the few reasons left to read the AJC. He's good at columns and longer take out pieces. He's head and shoulders better than Bark Madly and Mike Drop.
Bad thing is, he might be inching close to retirement. He wasn't a spring chicken when I played golf with him and that was nearly 20 years ago

    ‘08 & ‘16 not too shabby either.

Excited to see if the initial enthusiasm with the new coach and staff can land some players for February.

We were in the football dark ages, I’m glad you’ve come to the light.

Coach Collins knows Paul Johnson wasn’t getting it done in recruiting. He will restore a roster with size and speed that never gets outmuscled by Duke or South Florida, and can go toe-to-toe with Clemson and UGA—-at least our first string.
