Wonderful article. Certainly makes me proud to have CPJ representing the Institute.
 
Have to second the sentiment. That young man is incredible in his perseverance and it is amazing to have him on the team.
 
I don't like going 3-9, but this sort of thing really puts that into perspective. I'm proud we do it the right way. The next article down is about Art Briles. Pretty big contrast...
 
Excellent story and a great reason to be proud of our coach and program.
 
Maintaining an athlete's scholarship despite not being able to play is a GT policy, not just Johnson's. My cousin won a track scholarship. After enrolling as a freshman a routine physical physical found a heart defect; he was not allowed to compete, but still has his scholarship; he'll be a junior next fall.

As someone who's known coach for nearly 20 years, I can guarantee you PJ doesn't like 3-9. I don't know how much or even if we'll be better, but it won't be for lack of effort or determination

As someone who's never met CPJ I'm pretty sure he doesn't care for a record of 3 wins and 9 losses.

No I do not like it. I also don't expect it to continue. I expect a few years of 6 or 7 wins while we rebuild this wreck. OB win bought a lot of time from me. To do that at GT is nearly miraculous. Not Leicester City miraculous, but still.

I don't expect it either, but there were some times last year I felt he didn't have an answer.
