$70 apiece for the family including FanFest tickets ($15 value) and FanFest pins (who cares about pins).

I hated not to buy through the school...but the seats were so bad on ramblinwreck.com... we sold out allotment today anyway. This is the first time I have purchased GT tickets outside of the school...so a little bit of guilt.

My feelings on this are that as long as the school sells out its allotment, you're golden. No reason to feel guilty. If GT was struggling to sell their tickets, that would be a different story.

Yes...I always got good seats through GT for all of the Gator Bowls, Champs Bowl, Carquest Bowl, etc. Always club level. Even bought the ACC Champinship tix through GT...later walking by scalpers selling them for $10 apiece on the way in (barf!).

I would love to see 55,000 GT fans in there New Years Eve!!

I made the decision as well to forego purchasing tickets through GT. I do feel better that the school sold the full allotment --which I thought would happen.

Now to pull the trigger on e-bay or StubHub. I've almost closed out a couple of purchases --upper deck, GT sideline between the 30's-- but I keep thinking that if I purchase now I might see something better later.

Thing is that I'm certain to get tickets below face --if I find a really good deal I may pick up a couple of extras and give them as Christmas gifts.

Is it my imagination, or are the schools' allotment of tickets mostly made up of the least desirable seats in the Dome? I'm happy to "take one for the team" sitting in the endzone for $80, but it's a bit irritating that the dedicated fans end up with the worst seats, while the passive game goers can pick up better seats for less. Correct me if I'm missing something.

I hear ya'!

BUT, if we both bought the "LOWER LEVEL ENDZONE" off RamblinWreck.com, which section(s) will that be exactly?

I thought about waiting...but these were the seats I wanted.
I wanted to be row 9 or less of only Sections 321 or 322.
That limited my ability to wait. I was willing to pay $100-$125 for those...so very happy with $70.

Ok, but don't come on here and tell us how to act as fans. You can't have it both ways.

I'll be sitting in the lower end zone that now my daughter says is where the students are sitting. So I guess I will actually be standing in the lower end zone.

Actually regarding bowl tickets, those of us who support Tech by preordering tickets, as requested, should be rewarded. We should get 1 point for every ticket for every bowl game we agree to BEFORE the last game of the year AND we should get 2 points for every consecutive year of buying bowl tickets.

How many times will I buy Emerald Bowl tickets and still get the end zone when just about every bowl game does not sell out and better seats are available?

(p.s. I really don't care, but it is a fairness question, which regarding tickets, is not Rad's strength.)

What section?

I found some in section 322 on EBay. Theye were $79 yesterday morning. I didn't buy them yet. Last night they were magically $59.

Not sure where you are going with it....but I pre-order every bowl but the Chick-fil-A with GT because of the way the Chick-fil-A bowl places the school seating...and I always know we will not have trouble selling our allotment.

If we ever are having trouble selling our allotment...I buy extra tickets and donate them to a local Boys/Girls Club....did 20 of them for the Emerald.

So...even though the Chick-fil-A Bowl is the only one I do not pre-order...should GT have trouble with it...I would buy a few even though I already had tickets and then donate them to charity.

I am fortunate and thankful that I can do this...but I never leave GT in the cold...never.

You're a great fan, certainly one of the best. I didn't mean to question that. I actually mixed in three mutually exclusive thoughts into one post.

par 1) I heckled you on the first paragraph. Basically, in today's world, everyone has the right to do what's best for themselves. No matter the fan, there is a breaking point at which someone says "this just doesn't make sense for me today." We just all have to remember that when we heckle the next guy (not that you would).

par 2) This had nothing to do with paragraph 1. I was just responding to where I was sitting and finding out the students are nearby (I won't be encouraging my 83 year old parents to go now.)

par 3+) Also not meant to tie into paragraph 1, in general, I still am not a huge fan of Rad regarding one issue: allegiance. Tech now sends out bowls requests before our last game or two. It is very difficult to place an order that early. It all comes down to allegiance. I personally think that Rad should show some allegiance back to the supporters by rewarding them with something for supporting the bowl games, even the ones where you get end zone seats. I think it would be good business and help in ticket sales through the AA.

Got it...posts are like emails sometimes...hard to tell the "mood".

Not sure on DRad either....but may never be...and maybe that is a good thing.
As long as he keeps GT sports relevant, ethical, and profitable I guess I am good with it. He is definitely not there to make us feel warm and fuzzy...he is a businessman.
He and Braine could not be more different.

It's a shame that the schools allotment isn't in the lower level sidelines behind the repsective teams benches. This is how it is done --well, the way it used to be done-- with NCAA basketball tourney tickets. I went to games at the Omni for ten straight years and the teams fans were always in the best sections. Don't think this was the case though back in '96 when the NCAA's moved to the Dome.

Corporate ticket allotments eat up the good seats --these same seats can be found on StubHub and the like for two-three-even four times the face value. It sux.

Dude, did you get those last night? I saw a couple of auctions on the 7th row from the same guy that I won my auction from...I got 3 tickets section 322 row 1!!!!! Mine also came with the fan fest tickets and pins

I went ahead an purchased on e-bay tonight.

GT side
20 yard line
upper, row 4
$36 per ticket with the FanFest tix and pins.

I was looking to get between the 30's, but 20 is not bad, particularly 4th row --plus the price is certainly right.
