Got my Days Inn one room luxury "suite" reservations carefully chosen from MapQuest location (looks to be about an inch or so from Alltel on MapQuest - wonder if it's got some kind of scale factor?). Reserved my ACCCG tix on line and it went flawlessly (unless I somehow purchased tix for all the bowls listed, but let's not go there).

So, I'm good to go. Man, we win the ACCCG and go to the Orange Bowl - WhoooHOOO!!! I'm there.

Wonder how difficult it would be to stay in Orlando and make a day trip of the Orange Bowl? I know, getting a bit ahead. I should taunt Miami's board first.

Anyway, just wondering who else out there has nailed their reservations for THE game?

If you are that close to Alltel Stadium then the motel is probably "by the hour". I would look elsewhere.

Architech: I would listen to hiveredtech. Days Inn isn't the finest of lodging. You might even have to bring some weapons with you just to be safe at one!

I've actually heard about the Days Inn in downtown Jacksonville. DO NOT stay there!

Other areas to stay close to JAX....

With little traffic there...you certainly do not have to stay downtown to get to the game and other events easily.

About 35-40 minutes north is Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island.

Just 20 minutes outside of Jacksonville on the southeast side you have several beach areas including Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, and Ponte Vedra Beach. Pretty much all of the national chains are in this area as well.

About 30-35 minutes south of Jacksonville is St. Augustine and surrounding beaches.

There is usually some availability at hotels near the airport.

Downtown JAX just does not have a lot of great options for hotels. The ones that are not "by the hour" fill up fast.

I thought I was getting special treatment when she told me the rates were "by the hour." In fact, she asked me would I be having more than one companion and would I need some extra towels for that. What a great place! Also, they said they had discreet parking in the rear (she said "rear" in a whisper and sort of giggled - what a sweet lady).

This is going to be a great trip. I just have intuition about these things.

ROFLMAO!!
:laugher:

You Are All Worthless and Weak!!!

As a true fan, I don't need a reservation the night before, as I will be partying all night and announcing my presence with authority, as a Yellow Jacket fan to the city of Jacksonville.

I don't need a reservation the night after the game, as, depending on the score, I will either be doing the same thing or I will have Jacksonville's Finest provide the lodging.

Or I'll crash in ArchiTECH's room for an hour, scaring away the hookers.

You excite ArchiTECH.

Here's How It Will Go Down

It's a direct feed from my FutureVision console, which is a nifty device, if you get the chance to acquire one.

"Yellow Jackets won!!! WOOOOOOOOOOO! Go Jackets.... What's wrong with this Days Inn? Not enough Old Gold, I tell ya! Just yellow! Who wants yellow!

"Oh, wait. That's puke.... I've been by here before.

"Hey, open up! Is ArchiTECH in there?"
"Go away."
"Are you ArchiTECH?"
"No! I'm trying to get some sleep!"
"Well, puke on you, mister Trying-To-Get-Some-Sleep!"

"Go Jackets!"
"Hey, big boy. Celebrating?"
"I sure am! Go Jackets!!! Are you ArchiTECH?"
"Do you want me to be ArchiTECH? I could be ArchiTECH for 20 minutes. One hundred dollars."
"One hundred dollars?"
"Yes."
"Twenty minutes?"
"For you, sure."
"Let's see, that's... that's.... Hey! I didn't get all my change for my drink! One drink didn't cost that much. I think. One drink.
"Listen, lady. You're a nice lady. Could you be ArchiTECH for like, ONE minute? And can I get change back if you only have to be ArchiTECH for mebbe 30 seconds?"
{Muffled reply}
"I can do that! Do ya wanna watch, pretty lady? I'll only charge you... one hunnert dollars, and you can watch me... do that thing you said."

"Open up! ArchiTECH, open up!"
{Silence}
"Open up, or you're a Buzz-offer!"
{Silence}
"There sure are a lot of Buzz-offers in this hotel."
{Moves to the next door, and bangs on the door.}
"Is ArchiTECH in there?"
{Silence}
"This must be the Official Buzz-off Hotel!"

"What's this? Someone left their underwear outside their door? Sure is stinky. And stiff.... This has GOT to be ArchiTECH's room!
"Open up! ArchiTECH, I know you're in there!"
{Door cracks}
"Shhhhhh! Don't spoil it! I'm getting lucky!"
"Are you ArchiTECH?"
"Yes! Be quiet! Who are you?"
"I'm Techbert! GOOOOOO Jackets! WHOOOOOOOO!"
"Shhhhhhh! I'm about to score!"
"Is this your underwear?"
"No!"
"No?!? It looks your size. Are you sure this isn't your underwear?"
"No! Well, yes. Put that away!"
"Put it away? Buddy, I'll do anything once, huyah huyah, but I won't put your underwear 'away'!"
"Go away!"
"Sure. Let me in first. Who's in here with my ole buddy ArchiTECH?!?"
{Sheets rustling}
"Look, mac. This'll cost ya extra. The bee outfit was kinky enough."
"Are you two Yellow Jacket fans?"
{Giggles}
"Oh, yeah! We've been Yellow Jacket fans... forever!"
"You're not bad looking. What's your name?"
"George.... George P Burdell.... You can call me... 'P'!"
{Liquid streams across the room. Two girls run out screaming and complaining, clutching scanty clothes.}
"Now look what you've done!"
{Snoring}

Techbert,
You have written the perfect screen play for me - ArchiTECH. Keanu Reeves as ArchiTECH...nah, too gay. Let me give it more thought.

ArchiTECH very happy. "Happy Days at Days End", starring Keanu Reeves...nah, still too gay. Oddly, I'm thinking how stunning that black trench coat was in The Matrix - metaphorically speaking.

Season ticket holders have until 11/17 deadline so I am going to wait for a while.
