Didn't get to come in for the game Thur but did listen on radio.

From what I heard on the radio, it sounded like JSU defensive line did pretty well against our OL. You tell me, how did our GT OL stack up against JSU's DL.

Overall, how would you score our offense for the game?

Score between 1-100.

To be able to give an accurate grade we will really have to wait to after the next 2 games against 2 pretty good defenses.

B - 80

Didn't we score TD's on 4 out of our first 6 drives? Not too shabby, even against Jax St. The first drive would have had a TD too, had our receiver caught that ball.

After about the mid-second quarter CPJ looked like he was calling plays to get game film, rather than trying to score. I think he will be able to point out a lot of adjustments for the O-line now that he has game speed film. I think he would have called a much more different game had the outcome not been wrapped up.

I think confusion on blocking assignments lead to our two blocking penalties. Either that, or the center wasn't coming out low enough. Two guys can hit low without a penalty, right?

I could be wrong but I think the center is supposed to bypass that NG on the two penalty plays. As to what's supposed to happen when the NG holds him up, I'm not sure.

QB-80
A/B Backs-85
Recievers-99 (on downfield blocking alone)
O-line-65 (when blocking straight ahead-85, back side trying to seal-45)
Overall-78

Cant have one blocker go low while another blocker is engaged with defender...so to answer your question "no".

I thought the "engaged" was one blocker holding a guy up, while the second guy cuts his legs. That is definitely the penatly we got (twice). I'm not sure if two guys cutting the same guys legs is legal.

they changed it some this year. i find the new rules more confusing, not less confusing though

I give our offense an "I" and permit it to do some makeup work before grades are submitted in 5 days.

I though our O looked good running the ball and just OK passing. The receivers seemed to block well, notably Bebe. I thought both QBs were good and several of the backs were very good. The line was a major disappointment to me, but even they seemed better than special teams.
